Vacuum sealing your food is one of those things. Once you start, you’ll want to try it on everything and the Campfire 12V/240V Vacuum Sealer is a great place to start your food storage and preservation journey. Vacuum sealing is a great way to package your food to take camping - it keeps food fresher for longer, reduces storage space and freezer burn, stops leaking, and avoids things getting soggy in the bottom of your esky.
You’ll also soon learn of the benefits that vacuum sealing your food can have at home or in the caravan. Vacuum sealed food keeps up to 5 times longer in the fridge, it preserves more nutrients, reduces freezer burn, and reduces food waste when you seal your leftovers and reseal plastic packets. You can also seal when you're out in the field - just plug it into a 12V power source and seal whatever you’ve fished or foraged to take home or save for another day. An easy-to-use multifunction panel gives you the ability to select the right settings for anything.
The 30cm bag capacity gives you plenty of space and the 3cm thick vacuum seal locks in freshness and eliminates any smells. 5 large and 5 small bags are included but be warned, you won’t stop there. Vacuum sealing bags and rolls are sold separately so you can keep on sealing to your heart's content.

Campfire Vacuum Sealer2 answers
1: Who makes Campfire ? is it Companion ? 2: Are other Sealer rolls/bags compatible ? 3: What's your opinion of the product ? 4: How does it compare with the Kickass Vacuum Sealer ?
Steven - Ulmarra(1 year ago)
Campfire and Companion are sub brands of OZtrail now, Steven, but the products are largely made overseas. If other sealer bags are the right dimensions then they should be fine.
I think the product is good value for money, we've had good feedback, and this model and it's predecessor have been part of our range for some time now. I can't make a direct comparison to Kickass though, I dont have any experience with that product sorry.

I can, I bought a kickass first model 12v only and never could I get a bag to seal properly doubting it’s vacuum was strong enough. 2 years later only a couple weeks ago I bought a new kick Ass 240v/12v model and here I go again poor vacuum and after 5-6 attempts including a mate watching and trying himself it failed every time to seal at all. Conclusion is faulty defective. I’ve sent back for full refund and today I see they dropped the price from $169- I paid to $89. When I notified them I got no reply or response so I’m not happy but lucky I insist on using PayPal. I should have known after I wasn’t happy with the first one I bought which is still brand new. I certainly like to kick their ——

Make your own bag size1 answer
Can the unit perform a seal only so you can make your own size bag cut from the roll?
Adrian - Perth, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Adrian,
Yes, absolutely. There is a seal only button function on the unit, which allows you to see open-ended rolls & customise your bag size.

Comparison1 answer
How does this stack up against the Dometic product that does the same thing but is more expensive?
Stephan - Watsonia, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Stephan,
Unfortunately, we don't have any further information on this one, as it's literally a brand new model and we've only just got in through the door this week. The only thing we really have to go off is customer feedback. The previous Companion model had a 5 star review sweep, whereas the Dometic has mixed reviews with the most common feedback that it can be quite temperamental. Even though we are yet to receive feedback on this new Companion, there's no reason to suggest it won't be as great as the previous version.
