The ACMA has allocated channels 5/35 for emergency use only. Channel 5 is the primary Simplex Emergency Channel. Where a channel 5 repeater is available, you should select Duplex on channel 5. Channel 35 is the input channel for the channel 5 repeater. Therefore channel 35 should also not be used for anything other than emergency transmissions.

external mic & earpiece1 answer
Can you have an earpiece and external mic on this model?
Max - Middle Dural, NSW(9 months ago)
G'day Max,
You can get them, but we don't stock those accessories, unfortunately. If you're tracking them down the part numbers are MC007 for the microphone and HS009 for the earpiece. Hope that helps.

Range 1 answer
What range could I expect with these? Thanns
Jordan - Leichhardt, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Jordan,
GME don't provide distance specifications, are there's no universal answer and a whole host of variables that can affect this, but a quick google search shows that 2 watts will generally cover you anywhere up to 7km.
