Could this be used as a standalone freezer?
G'day Graeme,
Yes, absolutely. The temperature range for these units is 20°C to −20°C, so it will run at whatever temperature you set it at.
Hope that helps.
What db is.the compressor noise?
G'day Winston,
We don't have a decibel rating on this one for you sorry, but my colleague who I'm working with today has the same fridge. They don't find theirs noisy at all, and would happily have it sleeping with them in a tent for example without being disturbed.
Hope that helps somewhat!
Hi Lauren & Ben I want to purchase this product however I am trying to research, but, is it compatible with the Bluetti EB70 & EB3A power pack ?
G'day Steven,
We're not too familiar with the Bluetti units, however, based on the specifications I found on their website they should work with the Brass Monkey 25L Fridge. The EB30A unit wouldn't run the fridge longer than an hour or two, and the EB70 would only last around 8-10 hours, so you'd need to make sure that you have a way to recharge your power pack, or opt for a battery with a much larger capacity.
Hi guys firstly I really enjoyed your informative podcast Ep 32 - Battery Chemistry with Hard Korr, thankyou. Ok question: is the companion 40AH lithium power pack compatible with Brass Monkey 26L fridge/freezer ?
G'day Steven,
Yep! The Rover 40Ah has both a standard 12v cigarette plug outlet, and an anderson plug outlet - these are both the most common terminals on 12v fridges, so will be fine to run the Brass Monkey fridges.
There seems to be no way to fix this Brass Monkey fridge by looking at the photos, any ideas how to fix it so it doesn't go flying around in the back of the ute
G'day Jason,
There's nothing off the shelf for these fridges, you'd just need to rig something up with quick release tie-down straps.
They'll need to run across the top of the fridge, hence the quick release so you can easily get the lid open when required unless you run some straps around the body horizontally.
Alternatively, the Brass Monkey Insulated cover has D rings on each corner, if you had one of these for the fridge that would give you anchor points.
Have seen other similar, alternatively branded fridges state they have an internal battery which can run the unit for up to 8 hours. If no battery in this unit, how does the USB port function?
G'day Gwyn,
No, The Brass Monkey 25L Portable Fridge/Freezer GH2006 doesn't have an inbuilt battery.
The USB outlet is available to run light or charge your phone, etc through the fridge, but the fridge itself has to be plugged into a power source.
