Light bar control1 answer
Is it possible to control the light bars individually?
Monty - Lansvale, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Monty,
It would be, but you'd need to get an extra splitter cable & a couple of extra dimmer switches. Hard Korr doesn't do a 4 way splitter, but the above will take you to a 3 way splitter, which when used with the 2 way that comes in the original kit, you'd get 4 individual lines.

Magnetic mounting1 answer
I have an Oztrail gazebo. I don't think the clip from the Hard Korr kit s will fit on the frame as it's 32mm (you say they're meant to mount to 25mm round tent poles) so will the magnets on the light bars stick to the frame of the gazebo?
Alex - Sydney, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Alex,
Yep, no trouble. The 48cm or smaller ones will magnet to the scissor struts as well as the legs. Hope that helps!

Power cable with Anderson1 answer
Is there a cable I can use to replace the cigarette power plug with an Anderson?
Paul - Burwood, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Paul,
There isn't an Anderson cable for the Hark Korr 12v lights, but it's pretty straightforward to chop of the cigarette plug terminal and replace it. If you've got a soldering iron and a bit of solder, or know anyone who does, you'll be sorted!

4 or 6 Bar Kit1 answer
Hi Guys, We are going to purchase lights for camping. We have a 6x3 gazebo and tent. Wondering what would be a better option to go with, the 4 bars or 6? Thanks
Simone - Middleton Grange, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Simone,
We recently had a chat with Hard Korr about this, so great timing! The 4 bar light kit will be more than enough light for that space.

USB 12V and LEDs1 answer
Can you run these lights from a 12V USB output if you sourced the correct USB to 2 pin male connections?
John - Melbourne(2 years ago)
G'day John,
No you can't. Generally USB outputs are regulated to 5v, so a USB port wont give your lights enough power to actually run.

Can you add an extension from the cig socket as my car is further than 5m from where lights will be?1 answer
Car will be ~10m from tent/gazebo setup, need to know whether I can get extensions that will reach that far
Paul - Perth, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Paul,
Yes, the DC LED Lighting Extension will add an extra 10m into your setup between the 12V plug and the dimmer switch.

Default colour1 answer
Hi guys If I set the lights to orange and unplug the lights from power, do the lights come back on as orange when reconnected?
Brett - Bellara, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Brett,
Excellent question! The Hard Korr 3 Colour Light systems will always default back to white when power is removed.

Power via DC direct1 answer
Can the light kit be plugged into the DC direct ports in a solar generator (like the Companion Lithium Rover) to power a run of lights?
Ben - Minto(3 years ago)
G'day Ben,
The 4 Bar Kit can be plugged directly into a DC power source using the 12V cigarette adapter supplied in the kit. The Rover Lithium Power Station has 12V Cigarette ports, so you can plug the kit straight in.

What is the difference between the Hard Kortmann 4 Bar LED 3 Colour camp Light Kit and the ‘Lifestyle’ kit.1 answer
Other than the hard body case vs the zippered bag and price, what are the other differences?
Geoff - Shepparton(3 years ago)
G'day Geoff,
The first major difference between the two, is that the Lifestyle bars don't have diffuser covers over them, so the light output tends to look slightly different, with the more premium option providing a better option in terms of keeping dust etc out. The other main difference is that the 4 Bar 3 Colour kit comes with the new 3 Colour switch, so you can run the lights with bright white, warm white, or orange, the Lifestyle kits just come with the 2 colour dimmer, with bright white or orange. There are also a few extra cables, that are a tad longer in the premium kit, as well as the pole clips for attachment rather than velcro attachments. Ben does a great comparison video (the last one listed on both products) so it's worth having a watch of that too.

Is there an adapter i can plug into a powerpoint?1 answer
I wont have access to a cig socket.. is there an adapter I can connect the light bars to and then plug straight into a powerpoint? And if yes, Will the 4 bar pack require just 1 adapter?
Adam - Coffs Harbour(3 years ago)
G'day Adam,
You can run the 4 Bar Kit from the Korr 240V to 12V Transformer if you're close to a standard power point. You'll just need one transformer to run all four bars.

3 colour or 2 colour?1 answer
The title states 3 colour led, however the only mention in the description of 3 colour is the tri colour dimmer. Everything else is just orange/white? Which is it? I don't want to purchase to only realise it just orange / white instead of the tri colour.
Magenta - Morphett Vale(3 years ago)
Hi Magenta,
Sorry about that, we'll re-word it so it's a little more clear. They are white, warm white, and orange.

Does the dimmer switch go all the way to off? And will that stop it drawing power from the battery?1 answer
I'm intending to use them as a permanent fixture in my Ute canopy for work, and just making sure they won't drain by battery when I'm not actually using them
Cameron - Dural(3 years ago)
G'day Cameron,
I've just called the team at Korr to verify and I can confirm that when the dimmer position is off they won't draw any power from your battery.

Do the lights come together into one cigarette socket or multiple?1 answer
when plugging the lights together, do each individual light need to plugged into an individual socket? Or do they split into one?
Conor - Blackbutt(4 years ago)
G'day Conor,
The 4 Bar Orange/White LED Kit comes with one cigarette socket and a range of cables so that you can string your bars in series, or in parallel. They will just need one plugin point, and then you could run a splitter and have two lines of lights, or you could string them all together and run them all off the on one switch/dimmer.

Would this be enough to light up a shed?1 answer
The description mentions a medium size campsite. Would this kit be sufficient to light up a 6x6m shed?
Aaron - Sydney(4 years ago)
G'day Aaron,
We're pretty sure you'll be fine with the 4 Bar Orange/White LED Camping Light Kit in your shed, these lights pack a fair punch and we think should be fine to light up your shed.

How long will car battery power the lights?3 answers
How long will a car battery power these lights? Will a standard car battery run the lights for a couple of nights and still start the car each morning without additional/extra charging?
Chris - Gold Coast(5 years ago)
G'day Chris,
A standard car battery, fully charged, provides about 48 amp hours. The 4 Bar Orange/White LED Camping Light Kit with Diffusers consumes 2.4 amps per hour. This means that you could run your light kit for an approx total of 20hrs off a standard car battery.
I would be starting your car every morning just to be sure, as there are many variable of battery ampage based on age, brand and usage.
Hope that helps!
Lauren - Snowys(5 years ago)
Simple answer is, if you are static camping more that 1 night, add a solar power blanket to your camp kit
Peter D - Nowra NSW(5 years ago)
I just thought I would give more info. All 4 lights and full brightness consumes 2.36Ah, this is the mode with both the Orange and White on. If you just use the orange OR white at full brightness, this drops to 1.5Ah Half brightness - 0.51Ah And the lowest setting with is 0.15Ah
