Did you know that GME is Australia’s largest manufacturer of PLBs and EPIRBs? What’s more, is that their MT610G PLB has been developed using the latest technology in emergency beacons and will give you peace of mind wherever your adventure takes you!
This device requires no subscription, and from the date of manufacture, you can use it at any stage within the 7-year battery life and be guaranteed that the signal will transmit for a minimum of 24-hours. The antenna must be upright to allow for a clear signal to satellites, and the integrated 72 channel GPS receiver ensures no interference. The MT610G uses the COSPAS-SARSAT global network and 121.5MHz homing transmitter to assist in leading rescuers to your precise location. The emergency alert is activated using an easy single-handed operation, so when every second counts, you can release the antenna, flick it upright and press the red button all in one swift move.
If you’re an adventurer who loves going out of range, or a contractor maintaining tall towers in the middle of nowhere, then having the MT610G PLB from GME in your pocket could well make or break an ugly situation.

Deciding on either the GME or the Rescue Me for hiking. Is one better than the other?

G'day,
The GME Accusat has the advantage of being an Aussie owned and made, the Ocean Signal Rescue Me has the advantage of having a higher waterproof and submergible rating, so is a good option if you also engage in adventure water sports eg. Kayaking, SUPing, etc
In essence, they both do the same thing, so whichever one you go with you'd still be in reliably safe hands

Plb comparison.1 answer
Hi , I am look at this and the rescueme plb. Intended use is mainly kayak fishing. I notice this is slightly bigger but more buoyant? I want it to fit in my pfd pocket. Which one do you recommend? Thanks for help.
Sean - Bundoora, VIC (1 year ago)
G'day Sean,
We recommend the Ocean Signal Rescue Me PLB for any recreational water spots, with inland or less than 2 nautical miles offshore. This particular PLB has been designed specifically for this purpose, and has the highest waterproof rating and longest submergible performance which is ideal for watersport conditions.

Battery1 answer
Can you change the battery after 7 years or must you replace the entire unit?
Nick - Croydon, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Nick,
Yep, you can absolutely have the battery replaced. It's not an end-user replacement & will need to be done through a GME Service Centre. You can get in touch with them here for more info about your closest option. Hope that helps!

Carry Case Included?1 answer
Does this unit come standard with a carry case? Or does it have to be purchased separately?
Allan - Central Coast, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Allan,
No, the Accusat does not come with a carry case. It has a small section to attach a lanyard or carabiner for anchoring to your pack, or securing it in your vehicle, etc.
