Can I use my pol to bom adapter that I use with my companion shower unit?
Wayne - Claremont, TAS(8 months ago)
G'day Wayne,
The product manual for the tent heater states the following:
This appliance shall only be used with the regulator supplied with the appliance. This appliance shall only be used with a ULPG refillable cylinder certified to Standard AS 2469 that has a 3/8” LH BSP inlet fitting, or a nonrefillable 468g disposable Propane cartridge certified to DOT-39, UN1075.
Even though the hose may be compatible, we're not able to advise against the manufacturers' instructions. Hope that makes sense.

How effective is the heater?1 answer
I know the video says that it'll only take the chill out of the air, but what does that equate to in change of temperature? For example, in a 6m² tent at 0 degrees Celsius, how much do you think this can warm up the tent?
Soo - Hornsby, NSW (8 months ago)
G'day Soo,
It's actually impossible for us to say without replicating the exact situation and testing. There would also be a few variables like rain or wind chill, air density, etc. The instruction manual says the following: "This appliance is designed to raise the outlet air temperature by a maximum (average) of 25ËšC to 30ËšC above the ambient air temperature and can be adjusted by the fan speed. During operation ensure that all air inlets and exhausts are kept free from obstructions, closure and blockage."
You must bare in mind that this is testing the air temperature at the opening of the outlet ducting, and isnt refelctive of how hot the heater can make an entire space - especially one that isn't insulated, like a tent.
There is no way that we can provide you with an idea of what temperature the air will get too, but potentially a couple of degrees. You wouldnt be relying on the heater to keep you warm, it'd just be as the description says, to knock the chill off. You'd need to ensure you have adequate bedding/sleep systems for the weather.

Use with Oztent RX-51 answer
How can I enable this to be used with Oztent Rx-5?
Rajeev - Carlingford, NSW (8 months ago)
G'day Rajeev,
You can feed the ducting through the zips in the wall and/or through the electrical access port, depending on which room you want to heat up. You can see these on either side of the main room, and the wall zips, in the 10th product image photo we have listed online. Hope that helps.

Inside tent1 answer
Can I use this heater inside a camper trailer or does the unit stay outside and the duct hose runs into tent?
Glenn - Christie’s Beach, SA(11 months ago)
G'day Glenn,
No, you cant. The unit must stay outside with the ducting running into the tent. If you place the unit inside you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Remote Start1 answer
Can you remote start this from your phone using the app. i.e. wake up in the morning and fire it up without leaving the van/tent? Or is the app only basics like temp adjustment.
Phil - Maribyrnong, VIC (1 year ago)
G'day Phil,
Unfortunately, the app doesn't cover a remote control function, but that would be awesome! The heater unit does have to be manually turned on, so a game of rock paper scissors may be in order each morning.

Power draw when running1 answer
Assuming the battery is fully charged and the unit is running off an external 12V battery, how much current will this unit draw?
Rob - Leeming, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Rob,
The charging cables do not power the unit, they only charge the battery, so regardless of whether or not the AeroHeat is plugged in, the unit will be running off the internal battery. If the internal battery was removed from the unit, for example, it wouldn't run at all. The 12v input charging current is 5A.

run while charging1 answer
Hi can you run this unit while it is on charge? I am after a longer run rime.
Darius - CARRUM DOWNS(1 year ago)
G'day Darius,
We do cover this in our product review video, so take a look at that if there's any further info you need, but yep! This can run with its plugged in to charge.

Camper trailer?1 answer
Would the volume of a camper trailer tent be too much for this heater?
Cameron - Ludmilla, NT(1 year ago)
G'day Cameron,
I'd say so, yes. Ideally this would be suitable for a much smaller space. If you are able to section off an area of the camper trailer, e.g if there are different room compartments, that would be much more suited.

Clarification Is This heater is compatible with the caravan gas bottles
Malcolm Stewart - Benalla, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Malcolm,
No, it is not compatible to be used with a caravan system. It can be used with either the disposable propane gas bottles, or refillable 3/8th BSP LPG bottles.
Lauren - Snowys(1 year ago)
Hi Lauren, could you please check this answer as Companion make such a hose to connect to a standard caravan gas bottle and the specs state it is compatible with ULPG. Thanks. Mel.
Mel - Yellingbo, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Mel,
The Australian Gas Association has recently changed some of its standards, which unfortunately means that these heaters are NOT compatible with a caravan gas bottle bayonet systems.
If, however, you are connecting to an individual, stand-alone ULPG gas cylinder that has a 3/8th BSP attachment, then you need to purchase the compatible 3/8th BSP hose. Unfortunately, Companion have advised that adaptors are not to be used to connect to any other type of gas bottle. You can find all of this information in the Product Manual as a PDF on the Snowys product page.
Hope that helps!
