You can rely on the OZtrail Base Pod Kit to anchor your Gazebo, whether you’re setting up for your outdoor sporting event, pop-up market stall or backyard barbeque.
We all know that you can plan everything down to the last detail, but at the last second, disaster will strike! You’ll get there and there’s no soft ground to pitch on, the weather could take a nasty turn, or you’ve left your pegs and mallet at home. That’s why you’ve got to add a Base Pod Kit to your arsenal to prevent any last-minute mishaps.
This kit comes with four pods, so and all you have to do it fill them with water or sand, attach it to the base of each leg, and voila! Your gazebo is secured. When you’re all done, just empty out the contents of the pods, and you’re ready for to pack up for easy transport. Things don’t always go to plan, so make sure you have the Base Pod Kit in your arsenal for anchoring your gazebo.
Can these be used with side walls attached to the legs? What about with the inner tent or the inner screen mesh?
G'day Mog,
It's not ideal. Both the walls and inner tent kits need access to the legs and foot of the gazebo for attachment. You could probably make it work, but its not going to be a seamless fit.
Will they fit
G'day Drew,
Standard gazebo legs range between 25-30mm square, so if your "30" refers to mm you should have any issues.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Lauren Ordered
Are these compatible with the 3m x 3m Fiesta? Can an inner screen tent be fitted while these are on? Thanks so much!
G'day Jacqui,
Yes, you can use the Base Pods with a Fiesta Gazebo and Screen Kit. The Base pods will push in on the edges of the screen kit near the ground, however, there is just enough clearance and flexibility that it will work.
You can use water or sand?
G'day Dianne,
Yes, these Base Pod Kits will fit around the legs on the One Touch 2.4 Gazebo, and yes you can fill the pods with water or sand.
If you wanted to add more weight to each leg could you buy two sets and put two on each leg to add extra weight to make sure it won’t fly away on a windy day.
G'day Craig,
While it would be theoretically possible to stack these on top of each other we don't think it is advisable as they're not designed to withstand weight stacked on top of themselves. They do weight in at 8kg each when filled with water, and if you peg the guy ropes out too then it shouldn't be a problem. If there isn't enough weight to withstand the wind, then it might be too windy and the best option would be to pop the gazebo down.
.
G'day Meek,
The advertised price for the Oztrail Base pod Kit 4pk is for all 4 of the pods.
Trying to decide which to get for market stall gazebo. Will be pre filling with sand. Looks like the sandbags may be quicker to attach (pods a wee bit more fiddly) but would you say the sand bags would be as robust/secure as the pods?
G'day Cheryl,
The Oztrail Base Pod Kits are a great little product & will fit snuggly around your gazebo legs. The sandbags would be a little more malleable and could work just as well provided that you've got them positioned nicely over the feet of your gazebo.
I have some promotional marquees I need weights for and the legs are 45mm hexagonal.
G'day Michaela,
Unfortunately, the holes in the Oztrail Base Pods aren't going to be quite big enough for your marquee legs. They fit snugly around the legs of the Oztrail gazeboes which are a fair bit smaller than 45mm hex.
Will these pods fit the Coleman deluxe gazebo ?
G'day Heather,
Unfortunately, the Coleman Gazebos have a slightly different shaped pole which means that they don't fit within the Oztrail Base Pods.
Hi. Would these pods eliminate the use of the guy ropes or are they still required? Thanks
G'day Kimberley,
If you're on soft ground and able to guy your gazebo out then we would always recommend that you do so. But if you're on hard ground, then the Base Pod Kit is an alternative to guy ropes.
Hi what is the weight of each pod when filled with water as many markets have a regulation on weight per leg.
G'day David,
I've just checked with Oztrail, and each pod in the kit will weigh approximately 8kg filled with water, 11.5kg filled with sand.
I have a Oztrail deluxe gazebo with three walls.
