The Big Foot Aluminium Tent Poles from Supa Peg are super handy to have in your outdoor kit for rigging your own custom shelter at the campsite.
Made from anodised hard structural aluminium, this pole offers strength and is also lighter than steel poles in the same category. Also featuring a hi-tensile steel spigot, you just twist extend and then lock it to get the ideal height for your set up. In terms of stability, the nylon cap on the end has drainage holes and provides a 32mm footprint.
Available in a few different sizes, the Big Foot Aluminium Tent Poles from Supa Peg can be used for all kinds of outdoor shelter setups.
Hi, I'm after a pole like this but need to swap out the bottom cap for a different one. Does the cap come off easily?
G'day Grant,
A little elbow grease will do the trick for you!
Are these poles strong enough to put a 1.4kg antenna at the top when fully extended ? Looking to use with a caravan, thanks
G'day Glenn,
The poles themselves are stong enough, but it also comes down to how you are planning to attach the antenna, and how you are planning to anchor the pole.
If you're not 100% sure on either of those things feel free to give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 or email service@snowys.com.au and we'll see what we can come up with.
Hi, would this be compatible with the OZtrail Ultrarig Heavy Duty Poly Tarp?
G'day Brock,
Ofcourse. The Ultrarig Tarp has D-Loops instead of eyelets, so you wont have any issues in terms of fit. Just make sure your tensioning is good, and consider some tarp buddies to go over the top of the spigot to help keep the D-Loop from moving around in windy weather.
Can I use with Oztent RX-5 awning?
G'day Emre,
Yes you can.
The fit is firm which is ideal for year round use, keeping the awning secure in adverse weather.
Hi, Just after the tube diameter as I am wanting to order some bent spigots at the time of purchase. Thanks
G'day Reece,
Sorry for the delay in getting to your question!
We have this info in the specs but its buried in the materials section.
22.2 / 25.4mm Diameter meaning the smaller inner pole where the spigot goes is 22.2mm
Wondering if these would be strong enough to replace the heavy steel poles I have for the awning in my camper trailer. I’m using tiegear guy ropes but I’m hesitant to replace poles as lighter may not be strong enough
G'day Geoff,
I reckon you should be fine, we've been running Aluminum poles for our annex for a fair while and they're absolutely fine.
The Big Foot poles have ribbing in the aluminum itself which helps add to strength. I'd recommend keeping any spreader bars for roof support as steel, but the upright awning poles will be fine to swap over.
Will these fit the holes of the camper fly or are the spigots too large?
G'day Laura,
Yes, they will fit.
The spigot of the Big Foot poles is 8mm in diameter, and the eyelets on the Camper Fly are 10mm.
Do the spigots on these poles fit standard oztent holes (Oxley 7 with add on awning room)?
G'day Charlie,
Oztent use fairly small eyelets on their tents, so unfortunately the Supa Peg Big Foot Pole Spigots are too large to fit through these eyelets. We'd recommend replacing with the Oztent Alloy Pole in 1.9 or 2.2m
It says "poles" in the title and description but how many poles do I get?
G'day Helen,
These poles are supplied individually, you can choose from three sizes, hence poles and not pole!
Will these poles suit Coleman NorthStar Instant Tent
G'day Andrew,
Unfortunately not, the spigot size doesn't suit the Coleman Northstar Tent.
What is the compacted length?
G'day Paul,
Once you select the 305cm size the packed dimensions will update. They are 173cm, long when compacted.
Hi looking to replace the shorter pole for the entry cover for my turbot air plus tent (it needs to fit in the bag) max length when in use is 190cm
G'day Laurent,
The Oztent Alloy Pole comes in a 190cm length, with a packed length of 110cm long, I'm not sure how long your bag is, but that might suit.
I’ve got a Blackwolf Turbo Twin 300 and because of condensation and bird crap want to start using a tarp over tent set up. Are these up to the task? The lighter weight alloy is appealing for packing etc but a few ordinary reviews have made me think I should go with steel?
G'day Jez,
The Big Foot Aluminium Poles could do the trick for you, however one factor we can think of being an issue is the load the poles come under when the weather isn't great. Popping a lightweight tarp over your tent will reduce the chance of stress caused by tarp flapping, however, if there is wind and the tarp has a lot of flap in it, the poles may bear the brunt of this. A safer option, if you can afford the weight would be to go for the steel poles. Either way, make sure you equip yourself with some decent guy ropes and pegs to aid in reducing the flap of the tarp.
Hi, What is the unextended length of the 230cm pole? Thanks
G'day Jordan,
The minimum length (i.e. packed length) of the 230cm Big Foot Aluminium Tent Pole is 134cm.
