Does this come with or without an internal rack to keep meat off the bottom? Also does this model have ribbing under the lid so you can use the lid as a griddle on a fire as well?

The Cast Iron Camp Oven 10 Quart isn't supplied with a trivet (the rack to keep your meat off the bottom), they don't make an oval trivet so most people tend to use two of the 4.5 Quart Trivets. Unfortunately, the lid isn't able to be used as a griddle.

I've just had our Queensland Team measure this for me. The internal dimensions at the base are 32L x 20W cm, and the internal dimensions at the top are 35L x 24W cm. The total internal height it 13.5cm. This is the only oval shaped camp oven we have, so there is not a longer camp oven available.

Hi, it’s a technical question so I may be expecting you to ask the manufacturer ... thanks for any help as google wasn’t helpful. If I cook bread, roast etc, is iron transferred to food only through contact, or also through the air between oven and food? Thanks in advance!

We haven't been able to get an answer from the manufacturer here sorry. I'm not sure what advice to give you, it's more of a question for scientific experts in the field. I also asked around our store in case anyone else has looked into this but dug up no information sorry.

There should be no issues with cooking with your cast iron camp oven at home. The only thing I'd recommend being mindful of is ensuring you don't have excess oil on the outside of the camp oven and that your home oven rack can handle to weight of the camp oven.
