Volume for wood fired bread making in pizza oven1 answer
Your site shows the volume as 1.9 litres. The dimensions shown of 20.5cm dia. x 9 cm high on my calc. comes to 2.972 litres. I assume that the dia. shown must include the 2 lifting flanges outside the oven. Is this correct ?. I can fit 3 camp ovens easily as the oven is 85 cm wide and the coals are at the rear thereof. I would like to try this method as it is difficult to stop burning some of the crust when baked on the firebrick base.

G'day Marshall,
Those are the external dimensions but don't include the tabs. You should have good success using them for bread, afterall there is some pretty epic dampers being made out there! The internal dimensions are 19.4cm diameter x 7cm tall. Hope that helps!

Cast iron camp oven
Byron - Bongaree(6 years ago)
G'day Byron,
You won't have too many issues making some small loaves of bread in the Campfire Cast Iron Camp Oven 2 Quart but I would say that there'd only be enough bread for 2-4 people at any given time.

Does anyone have a damper recipe just right for this size oven (my usual recipe wouldn't fit in this size)1 answer
My usual recipe would overflow this capacity oven, it it would fit in our pack better.
Anna - Brisbane(7 years ago)
Hi Anna,
I'm sorry we don't have a specific 2-quart recipe either but perhaps your recipe can be modified with a few calculations as I've read that a basic Damper recipe consists of 3 parts water (by volume) to 10 parts self raising flour with a sprinkle or pinch of salt. I've also found this recipe which might be nice: Beer & Bacon Damper
Hope that helps!

Will this 2Qt Camp Oven fit inside the 4.5Qt Campfire Camp Oven for storage/travel?1 answer
Jocelyn - MINDARIE, WA(7 years ago)
G’day Jocelyn, I’ve just tried this for myself in store and the 2 Quart Pioneer Oven does fit inside the 4.5 Qt Pioneer Oven, but the lid doesn’t close properly because of the handles so you might want to keep that in mind. Cast iron won’t scratch but it can crack, so when you're transporting it make sure you pad it with cardboard or wrap it with a tea towel so it doesn’t rattle.

Is there a trivet that will fit the Pioneer 2 Qt Cast Iron Camp Oven?1 answer
Kevin - ROSEVILLE, NSW(8 years ago)
Not for the 2 Qt Camp Oven sorry Kevin, or at least not from the range of camp ovens we carry. There was a steamer rack for 2 Qt ovens, but they didn't fit so we sent them back, nothing has been released since sorry.
