Different latches1 answer
The latches on this cooler are different to two other Dometic coolers I have. The others have bungee style latches. I intend to use this in a kayak behind the seat for fishing. I can only reach behind awkwardly and lift the lid and would not be able to undo latches. Bungee styles ones can be left un-clipped, can these, or when the lid closes they locked closed? If so, do you need two hands at the same time holding the latches free to open the lid. Old style is a one hand only needed.

Great question! I've just tried this using one hand with the old-style latch and the new style - which incidentally is made of thick, slightly stretchy rubber. Both latches are quite easy to undo using only one hand, so I don't think this should be a problem in your Kayak. You can leave the lid undone as it's heavy enough to reasonably seal it shut.

We've heard from the experts at Dometic and there is a 1.5cm taper toward the bottom internally. So the small dimensions would be 53.5L x 30Wcm.

Can this store an upright wine bottle or an upright 1.5/2l fizzy drink?1 answer
I would like know if this has a good upright capacity as it seems borderline that a bottle of wine could stand upright or a bottle of fizzy drink.

I just took a couple of bottles from the fridge in the office to give this a try and unfortunately neither the wine bottle or the fizzy drink bottle fit in upright. Both were just fractionally too tall.
