Good alternative to an insulated sleeping mat?1 answer
Would this work as well/better in cold temps rather than having an insulated sleeping mat with a good R rating?
Calum - Launceston, TAS (8 months ago)
G'day Calum,
No, it won't. The stretcher keeps you off the ground but without an effective insulative layer you'll be losing body heat out into the air underneather you. An insulated mat with a good R-Value is better than a stretcher on its own, BUT a stretcher mat combo is better than a mat on its own. Hope that helps.

Helinox Cot Max1 answer
Is it possible to use the stretcher as a base for a swag? I have a Darche 1100mm wide swag and the Darche stretcher is heavy and takes up a lot of space
Emile - Newtown, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Emile,
Not a great fit I'm sorry! The Cot One stretcher is only 68cm wide, so much narrower than even a single 900 swag. Unfortunately, your only real options to properly support a 1100 swag are the large Darche, 23Zero, or Oztent stretchers.

Stretcher bed into a swag1 answer
I’m looking into replacing the foam bed in my Crashpad single swag to save on weight when travelling. Has anyone tried fitting this stretcher in a single swag with any success?
Justin - Mount Hawthorn, WA(2 years ago)
G'day Justin,
No-one has as far as we know, but that doesnt mean you cant! We dont stock crashpad, so arent able to try it our for you, but you should be able to get an idea of fit from the dimenions provided on the Cot One, and cross check that with your swag space.

Comfort1 answer
Hello Guys, Just wondering whether a solid mat like the thermarest z lite would be a warm and comfortable option? Cheers
Josh - Williamstown, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Josh,
The Z Lite only has an R-value of 1.7, so it will provide comfort but not insulation. If you are wanting your sleeping bag to perform within its EN-tested comfort rating, you'll need a mat with an R-value of 4 or more. Hope that helps.

How wearing/ potentially damaging are the base supports of the Helinox on the floor of a tent? 1 answer
I have a range of tents that are relatively expensive (e.g. MSR Hubba Hubba) and was wondering if there might be a risk of damage to the tent floor from the base of the stretcher.
Aaron Foreman - 6056(3 years ago)
G'day Aaron,
The feet have relatively flat plates, with some texture for grip. If you've got an ultralight weight tent with a very low denier floor (like an MSR tent), I'd recommend taking some small squares of foam or similar to pop under the feet just to protect the floor of your tent from any possible damage.
