The Companion 3/8 Cylinder Hose Kit is commonly used for portable stoves with a BOM connection, hot water systems and small to medium sized gas bottles.
I need to replace the hose that connects the regulator on my Gasmate Cruiser BBQ to my 4kg 3/8' LPG Bottle. I can only find a gasmate branded hose that connects via a QCC connection.
G'day Laura,
BOM and UNEF are generally interchangeable fittings. In terms of a replacement hose for your Cruiser, its not something we confirm for sure - we dont currently sell it, so like to be able to check these things out in real life first.
Gasmate are pretty awesome with their customer service though, it might be an idea to get intouch so they can point you in the right direction for a replacement.
Will this hose fit the Jetboil Genesis stove? Thanks
G'day David,
Yes, this hose will connect to the regulator arm on the JetBoil Genesis Stoves to connect to a Gas Bottle with a 3/8" BSP fitting.
This is from JetBoil in the US:
The adapter hose that is purchased MUST be connected to the regulator. You cannot bypass the regulator. Here is what we tell our customers in the US:
You must connect the stock regulator to the Fuel input Port on the stove as normal. The top-end of the adapter hose will then get secured to the regulator. NOTE: the hose must not have an in-line regulator. The lower end of the hose should be connected directly to the bulk tank threads...again...NO additional regulator.
I highly recommend taking the original Propane Regulator arm that comes with the stove to a reputable propane supply store (they're specialists!) and tell them you need a thread adapter hose for connecting the regulator to a standard 20 lb. Tank valve. They should be able to help in selecting the hose and they might even offer such a hose in different lengths.
When all connections are made and leak-testing has been performed on all connections to confirm there is no fuel leakage, slowly open the tank valve to charge the hose/system. This should only take a moment and then you may proceed to open the tank valve fully. From there, refer to the user manual for normal operation of the stove.
As with all propane connections of this type, the system should be disconnected after use to relieve back pressure on the internal regulator components.
This hose will work, just be mindful of the considerations, and precautions, as mentioned above.
Can i connect a 3/8 gas bottle to the Companion AquaHeat Shower with this hose?
G'day Tristan,
Yep, this is the hose recommended by Companion if you want to run your Aquaheat from a 3/8th BSP LPG cylinder.
Hello snowys, Is this the hose that is required for my mention stove to fit into gas cylinder via bom provided regulator? Thanks
G'day Abilesh,
Yes, absolutely. As long as you have a 3/8th BSP gas cylinder you'll be fine.
Hope that helps!
Hi, is this the hose to use to connect Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove to Gasmate 3/8 2kg cylinder? thank you
G'day Jennifer,
No, the BOM to 3/8" BSP Hose isn't compatible with the Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove. The Gasmate stove is supplied with a 3/8" BSP hose, so is ready to connect to a 2kg cylinder from the box. If you're needing to replace the hose, then the Companion Fine Thread High Pressure Hose is a suitable replacement.
Will this hose work to connect a Trangia gas burner to a 2kg Camping gas bottle?
G'day Mathew,
Great question, but we don't recommend connecting these gas hoses together as they may not physically attach properly and also for your safety.
Hi there, I was wondering does the cylinder hose kit come in longer hose..my kitchen is on my tail gate and my gas supply is three metres away its to fit a Coleman stove
G'day Michael,
The Cylinder Hose Kit - 3/8 is only supplied in a 1.5m length. There are fairly stringent restrictions on flexible hose lengths under the Australian Gas Authority regulations.
sorry to ask but will this work with
G'day Steven,
I've had a chat with our gas expert, Nev. He told me that you'll have no worries at all with using the Primus Cylinder Hose Kit - 3/8 with your Mr Heater Buddy Heater.
G’day Tony, if you’re using a bayonet fitting with your caravan then the Mr Buddy Gas Heater wouldn’t be compatible with the Cylinder Hose Kit because the heater already has a regulator. If you were using this at home with a bayonet fitting it would also not be compatible because you need propane not natural gas. The way to use this heater would be straight off a standard gas bottle.
