The whole family can snooze comfortably, even through the early morning sunlight in the four-person Dakota 2200 Series 4 Rooftop tent from 23ZERO.
This tent uses 23ZERO’s Light Suppression Technology (LST) which is a dark coating on the inner to keep your shelter dark through dazzling mornings while keeping the temperature cooler on warm days. The Dakota is constructed from ECO13B 100% certified recycled 900D Polyester Oxford, with fine PVC coated insect mesh for airflow and protection. Take a look at the stars by zipping down the sky roof or the 180° windows and get air circulation through the side vents on the tent.
For stability, it has a 25mm heavy-duty alloy sheath-covered aluminium internal frame that pivots on a stainless-steel yoke. The whole gang can comfortably rest on the 65mm open cell mattress, which as a polycotton mattress cover so that you can keep it clean. There are two ladders and two doors for separate entry to make navigating any late-night toilet trips easier with a full house, while the adjustable 210D poly ripstop fly reduces condensation and makes airflow easier.
This tent also packs away easily into a 600gsm PVC transit cover with D ring compression straps when it’s time to head to your next destination. Providing superior spacious comfort plus a reduction in heat and light, the family-sized Dakota 2200 from 23ZERO will keep you comfortable on your outback tour.

Have you seen people mount this RTT on a trailer?1 answer
hi Team We have a camper trailer that needs a new top - wondering if this RTT would be an option. Have you seen people do that before with this or other models ?
shane - Glenroy, VIC (3 months ago)
G'day Shane,
I have seen a few people mount Rooftop Tents on top of trailers and have been successful! You'll need to make sure you have roof racks or support bars on top of the trailer to support the Rooftop tent to have attachment points to secure it in place. Just double-check sizing and if it would be suitable for your setup, there are plenty of YouTube videos on people attaching Rooftop Tents to trailers that could help.

Bedding1 answer
Can you pack this down with bedding in it?
Nadine - Evandale(3 years ago)
G'day Nadine,
We wouldn't recommend packing this away with bedding inside, as it will be too thick to close without damaging the hinge mechanism. Generally, you can leave a thin compressible blanket/sleeping bag inside without worry, but pillows won't fit inside.

Roof Rack Compatibility1 answer
Hi, Can this be mounted in this roof rack? https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/steel-flat-rack-suitable-for-120-series-prado.html
Abelito - Fannie Bay, NT(3 years ago)
G'day Abelito,
Based on the information from 4WD super centre you should be able to attach the Dakota 2200 to their flat rack. I'd recommend watching the 23Zero Roof Rack Mounting Video for an idea of how they will attach.

Roof rack suitability 1 answer
We have a 200 series sahara with a 3/4 pioneer platform will this roof top camper fit this?
sarah o'brien - Townsville (3 years ago)
G'day Sarah,
We'd say this should be suitable, however, you'll need to confirm the roof load rating and platform load ratings with your vehicle manufacturer and roof rack supplier. We would recommend checking out the installation video (linked in the Q&A response before yours) for information about fitting to your roof rack/platform.

Installation 1 answer
How is it secured to the racks? And are they supplied with the tent
Cory - Proserpine(3 years ago)
G'day Corey,
The Rooftop Tent is supplied with a fixing kit to attach to most roof racks. 23Zero have an installation video on their site that shows how to attach the tent using the supplied fixings. Have a watch of that, and hopefully, you'll be able to determine whether it will work with your roof racks.

How much weight can it hold1 answer
How much weight can it hold
Andrew - Underwood(3 years ago)
G'day Andrew,
The main limitation with your rooftop tent is the maximum roof load rating of your vehicle. The Dakota 2200 has been designed to fit around 4 people, however, you may find your capacity limited by your vehicle. You'll need to account for the weight of the tent, your roof racks, and whoever is in the tent.

Annexes?1 answer
Are there annexes going to become available again?
Trent - Whyalla(3 years ago)
G'day Trent,
We don't currently range the annexes in the larger sizes as we don't get many requests for them. We should be able to arrange a special order for you though, so just flick us a reply email to service@snowys.com.au and we can chase it up for you.

does the LST effect the breathability?1 answer
does the LST effect the breathability?
Andrew - Main Beach(3 years ago)
G'day Andrew,
The LST on the 23Zero Dakota Roof Top Tent shouldn't affect breathability at all, as there are plenty of ventilation options within the design.

Set up & pack away times?1 answer
Hi, what are the approximate set up & pack away times for this tent? Thanks.
Alexis - Edgewater, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Alexis,
The general rule of thumb with a RTT is to allow 5-10 minutes to set them up and pack them away. The first time you set it up it might take you a little longer until you're familiar with the method.
