Wouldn’t it be cool if you could just tack a room onto your gazebo? Well, you can do just that with the Gazebo Portico 2.4 Tent from OZtrail.
The Portico is made from 190T fabric and has a bucket floor with welded PE corners to protect you from the ground up. This shelter features the Portico pole system which creates nearly vertical sidewalls for more interior space and strength with fibreglass poles for additional stability.
The roof tensioners allow you to fit it into gazebos of different heights, and the large entrance makes getting in and out easy. You can get fresh air flow through the large vents, and the No-See-Um mesh will keep creepy crawlies out of your space, so you can sleep soundly.
Get more use out of your gazebo and add to your shelter set up with a Gazebo Portico Tent from OZtrail.
Is this an updated model from the original? Another camping store advertises theirs as the 2021 model, whereas there are reviews here from 2017. I prefer Snowys to this other store, but don't want the older model. Thanks!
G'day Jac,
This is the current model, yes. There have been some very minor updates over the years which are known as 'inline changes', meaning the product name and number remain exactly the same, as the changes are so minor it doesn't warranty the product being identifiable as a separate item.
Some business' choose to advertise things as being 'x model' or 'y model', which isn't actually accurate & creates confusion with customers.
Whatever stock we carry is what is currently manufactured by the brand, at all times. We sell out of things too quickly to have stock that is years old!
The reviews on this product are still relevant, regardless of age, as the product hasn't really changed that much.
Hope that helps.
Does this block out much light from coming through the material? Specifically artificial light that could keep me awake at night?
G'day Tayla,
No, it doesn't. This is only a single-skin portico, which means there's no fly or additional light-blocking layers. The fabric itself isn't overly thick, so it doesn't really block much light at all. You could consider getting a heavy duty tarp to tie over the portico that would significantly help.
Was wondering if this come with the fly that goes on top of the tent. As its a concern when it rains and condensation
G'day Foxxyy,
The Gazebo Portico doesn't come with a fly, so it is susceptible to leaks and condensation. It is recommended for use in fair weather only.
Does this connect to/work with to the Oz Trail 2.4 Fiesta Deluxe Gazebo?
G'day Miranda,
Yes, the Portico 2.4 can be used with the 2.4 Fiesta Deluxe Gazebo. They connect in the same way that the wall panels do so it shouldn't cause any troubles.
If not what alternatives could you use/add to existing clips to use on a C Clip exterpole
G'day Karen,
Unfortunately, we are currently out of stock of the Portico so I'm unable to physically check. I've spoken with Oztrail and they said the portico clips on at the top, however, the gazebo poles are not round so I'm doubtful that the hook will work with a Super Peg Extender Pole, which is 2cm in diameter. All our other poles are similar in diameter so I'm doubtful this will work.
Question for Oztrail 2.5 portico
G'day Dianne,
They are two-tone grey, and designed to fit on the 2.4m Gazebos, there aren't currently 2.5m gazebos from Oztrail.
Will this fit the OZtrail OneTouch Day Shade 2.4 Gazebo? PS the white 2.4 walls fits the Gazebo as we have one of these with the OneTouch DayShade 2.4
G'day Karen,
I've had a look into this for you, we don't think you should have any issues as they attach in the same way as the walls do. However, you may find that there isn't enough height to ensure the correct set up of the portico.
Would this tent attach to the Oztrail RV awning, I have the awning tent but would like the space getting in and out of my van
I don't see how you could make this work, Lee. The Portico attaches via velcro and clips that line up with suitable attachment points on a gazebo whereas the RV Awning has a sail track for attaching accessories. If you were handy with a needle and thread you could probably integrate your own sail track attachment, but I'm not sure how you would go about this and you'd be voiding the warranty in doing so.
Is this tent big enough to accommodate 2 single stretcher beds, such as the Zempire speedy stretcher beds?
G'day Heidi,
The Oztrail Gazebo Portico 2.4 should fit 2 single stretcher beds, you'll obviously just need to be careful of the sloped back when configuring where you put the stretchers.
Refer to reviews provided
G'day Patty,
This is still the original version of the OZtrail Gazebo Portico 2.4, so, there have not been any design changes to it. If you make the guy ropes nice and tight, it will help with the pooling but there's not a way at the moment to completely stop it from occurring.
Are there any places to attach guy ropes to this portico to help it stand up to wind etc? Or does it just rely on pegging down and it's connection to the gazebo?
G'day Kate,
We've just double checked with the stock that we have in the warehouse, and we found that the Oztrail Gazebo Portico 2.4 doesn't have any attachment points for guy ropes. You probably could tie some around the poles, but there is nothing specifically for it. I hope this helps, Kate.
How does the portico attach to the gazebo? If with velcro then it would probably fit with the coleman gazebo? Do you agree?
G'day Colleen,
I've just double checked with Oztrail and they've said that the Portico 2.4 attaches to the legs of the gazebo with velcro, but as it designed to be used with Oztrail gazebos we can't confirm that it would fit perfectly with your Coleman model.
Could I use this tent without a gazebo
G'day Colleen,
The Oztrail Gazebo Portico 2.4 needs an Oztrail Gazebo to connect to in order to stay upright.
Would this attach to a different brand not oztrail
G'day Kim,
The Oztrail Gazebo Portico 2.4 is specifically designed for Oztrail Gazeboes. It can be attached to other brands but it might not attach 100% perfectly as it would with an Oztrail gazebo.
