Can I charge this via a Companion power station1 answer
I watched the video, it shows that you can charge via a computer or plugging into a charger into house power. Can I plug this into a power station to charge it? Thanks.
Sandra - The Gap, QLD(2 years ago)
G'day Sandra,
The charging cable provided has a USB terminal, so this can be used with any power source that has a USB outlet. I'm not sure which Companion Powerstation you have, but if it has a USB output then the answer is yes.

Zoleo messaging usage1 answer
Hi, This is just information I received when I contacted Zoleo about messaging usage. I asked Snowys below and got a response to follow up with the plans and charges through the plan link. The plan doesn't really cover incoming usage so I emailed Zoleo, and heard back from Marco regarding the receiving of txts and emails - does receiving also get applied to the number allotted per plan. His response: Every messages/ email sent or received over satellite will be charged against your monthly allowance. If messages are sent over WiFi you will not be charged. If your are connected to the cellular network you will be charged a standard rate depending on your phone service provider. When your contacts are sending messages/ emails to your ZOLEO number they are charged a standard message rate depending on their service provider. I don’t think you will be able to send pictures as the device is designed for standard messages only. ************************** Just FYI :) And yes, this wouldn't be a deal-breaker to buy but it will certainly affect my idea of which plan to connect with. Plus, the option to suspend for $6.50 per month instead of paying the plan cost (mind you, only available after the first 3 months) I think is a great idea.

A couple of questions - response time and charges1 answer
Hi, 1. If the SOS is activated, who gets the signal or txt, and roughly how long is it from receiving the SOS to getting it to emergency services? 2. If I have the Zoleo and someone sends me a txt or email, is it an extra charge for them? Plus is my txt or email allocation used up if I receive a txt or email? Thanks in advance, S.
Sandra - Brisbane City, QLD(2 years ago)
G'day Sandra,
1. The SOS signal is sent to the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC). They will coordinate a response with local authorities in the country the alert is activated. This time frame isn't provided anywhere, however as the signal is an emergency SOS signal, it is treated in the same way a triple zero call is.
Since Zoleo can only send text, apart from a generic SOS how do you contact emergency services? Do they have a text service on 000?
David - Mornington, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day David,
You can't text 000, but you can text someone to call emergency services for you. If the situation is dire and you can't wait for someone to see your text and call on your behalf, then you would obviously use the SOS button - that's what it's for!
