You could be forgiven for thinking all tent pegs are equal. But it's not the case. The lightweight Sea to Summit Ground Control Tent Peg is a pointy little symbol of innovation.
Made from strong-as-an-aircraft 7075-T6 alloy, this peg will never bend and feature multiple guy points along its length in case you can only whack it in so far. A luminescent pull tab makes it a breeze to pull out when you pack up.
At a wee 12g, this is the tent stake for the ultralight trekker who looks at conventional tent accessories with disdain.
Hello Your specs say its made from 6061-T6 alloy, but sea to summits web site says its made from 7075-T6 alloy. Have Sea to summit updated this peg?

G'day Kelvin,
I've just double-checked the catalogue and the pegs themselves and they are the 7075-T6 alloy as you indicate. We'll get that updated online, thanks for finding the error for us.

How long are these pegs?2 answers
The description says 7.9cm - Lightweight, no doubt, but I'm not sure that 7.9cm would give a reliable anchorage in most ground conditions?

G'day Jo,
Ha! I couldn't help but have a laugh over this :) Yep you're right, 7.9cm seems a bit too short - thanks so much for bringing our attention to this! We're currently out of stock but as soon as our shipment arrives we'll measure them up and amend those details. I'm assuming they'd be around 17.9cm since the packed dimensions are 18cmL. Cheers

Weight1 answer
The details on the webpage state that this peg is 14g. The listed details on the right of the description says that it is 6g. How much does the peg weigh?
Michael - Hawthorn(6 years ago)
G'day Michael,
Thanks for pointing this out. 0.014 Kg (14g) is the weight of each Sea to Summit Ground Control Tent Peg.

So you can hit these into firm or hard ground and they wont bend, correct?1 answer
Ric - Bundarra NSW(7 years ago)
Everything has limitations Ric, and at some stage common sense must prevail. These are designed to take more of a pounding than regular round or 'U' shaped pegs, but given they are made to suit the lightweight hiker, there are definitely situations where a heavy strike combined with particularly hard ground will result in another dimension being added to one of these pegs, you would want to back off and re-locate the peg if it feels like this is going to happen.
