Simple to set up and use, the reliable Smarttek Lite from provides instant hot water from a small and light unit and is ideal for compact camp or caravan setups in warmer climates. The smaller heat exchanger and burners won't raise the water temperature as far above ambient than its bigger sibling but saves a little on packed size and weight.
This sleek design is just 30cm x 37 cm, weighs 4.5kg and has been tested over 12,000 cycles to ensure durability. To set it up and use it, hang it by the mounting brackets or handle, connect the gas bottle using the gas regulated hose, connect the shower rose and rose to the water outlet valve, connect the water source to the water inlet valve, insert the two included batteries provided - and you’re all set for hot water out in the field.
This unit provides 4.3L per minute of constant water flow with the included pump and up to 6L per minute maximum with an optional larger volume pump, has an LCD temperature display for setting the temperature, a 2 pressure setting shower head with twist on/off control, and a stainless-steel finish so it can hold up in the harsh Aussie climate. When you need dependable and portable hot water, the Smarttek Lite from Smarttek is the perfect entry-level option.
Can this be fitted inside a motor home
These are not designed to be permanently installed anywhere, Dale, and they need to be used in a well ventilated space, so they won't be suitable inside a motorhome.
Does this Smartec lite include the stand in this package?
G'day Deb,
Smartek hasn't included The Smarttek Tripod Stand in this package but it is available separately. You can find it through this link HERE.
Can you connect mains water tap directly to the unit?
G'day Paul,
Yes you can connect the Smarttek Lite to mains water using standard garden hose fittings.
Hi, can you purchase the heater unit only, as I already have a pump and shower head.
G'day David,
We're only able to get our hands on these units with the whole package that includes the heater unit, hoses, pump, and showerhead.
Can you connect the Coleman 1 pound green bottle to this instead of a large gas bottle? Thanks
You'd need a BOM to 3/8 SAE hose plus a regulator in the system. I don't know of anything available 'off-the-shelf' for this sorry, Marcus. Whether or not it can be done is a question for a professional gasfitter, unfortunately.
Purchased smartteklite new, can’t get it to reach a temp any higher than 28degrees regardless of ambiant temperature.
I reckon there would be a simple solution to this, Michael, and the quickest way to get an answer would be to call Smarttek themselves on 1300 119 906. They can usually troubleshoot these things over the phone.
Hi, What is the difference between this and the black? Can you run a bigger volume pump without problems? Thanks in advance
G'day Chris,
There are a few key differences between the Lite Smart Hot Water System and the Black Smart Hot Water System. The key is the different size pumps, but the maximum heat output also varies slightly, with the Lite unit being able to bring water 35'C above ambient, and the Black 42'C above ambient. The overall warranty on the unit is also 12 months, versus 3 years. You can purchase the 6L pump separately to use with the Lite unit too if you wish.
We have the Yetti 400, what power connections, if any, will I need for the pump?
G'day Benny,
Great question! You'll need to take a look at the Smarttek Multi Cable Pack, which will give you great versatility connecting to a range of power sources. With the Goal Zero Yetti 400 the 12v attachment cable will be the way to go. hope that helps.
Can I use normal 12 mm garden hose & connectors to supply water in and take water out of the Smarttek lite .
G'day Ray,
We've just double-checked this for you, and yes the fittings on either side of the pump are your standard garden hose connectors.
Hi guys, I read that it has a pol connection to the gas bottle. Any options for using the 3/8 bottle?
G'day Lance,
The Smarttek Lite Hot Water System comes with hose that has a POL connection so if you're wanting to use a smaller 3/8" BSP bottle then just grab a 3/8"BSP LH to POl Adapter.
I have town gas plumbed in my back yard and am looking for a portable unit like this to use for an outdoor shower. Thanks
G'day Sim,
The Smarttek Lite Smart Hot Water System is designed to run on LP Gas, so, unfortunately, you won't be able to plumb this unit into your town gas supply. You can run this unit off your BBQ style gas bottle though, so should be perfect for an outdoor shower with the right setup.
Does this system pump up water from say a jerry can? Thanks
G'day Martin,
Yep! This system can pump water from a jerry, tank or other watersource, as well as being connected to mains.
