Can you buy a spare battery for this model Cost1 answer
Can you buy a spare battery for this Model Cost
Clive - EDEN NSW(7 years ago)
We've never had to replace one Clive, and Coleman don't list them as a readily available part so I can't give you a price sorry. Lithium Ion behaves differently than the old SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries in that they don't lose performance in storage, and they have a discharge/recharge cycle life 1000's times more than SLA batteries. It's more likely you'd be due for a new lantern before the battery dies, I'm sure there would be spare parts available in the unlikely event of failure though, and we would help you out with this.

Compare Coleman retro with this one1 answer
I had the coleman retro lamp - eventually it would not charge - looking at this one as a replacement as the xtra cost for new retro battery or maybe globe does'nt warrant the cost - what do you reckon? Is this a better lamp than the retro?
Gene - CARINGBAH, NSW(8 years ago)
Hi Gene, the Coleman Retro you have uses sealed lead acid batteries which need to be maintained and charged regularly in order to prevent leakage (which in turn can cause damage). The Coleman Lithium Ion LED lantern would be a far better upgrade as it uses rechargeable lithium batteries which should eliminate that issue. In my personal opinion, I would recommend upgrading your lantern to the Coleman Lithium.

Is the lantern waterproof?1 answer
Will it be ok out in the rain?
Erica - STIRLING, VIC(8 years ago)
It has an IPX4 rating Erica, which means it is OK in situations where water is splashing on the lantern but not at any significant pressure. It will be OK in a little rain but I wouldn't recommend leaving out in extended or particularly heavy rain events.

what is the charge time , both 12v and 240 v 2 answers
mal - happy valley(8 years ago)
Hi Mal, Coleman don't list charge times, I've sent an enquiry to our rep and will get back to you on this one.
Ben - Snowys(8 years ago)
Hi Mal, official response from Coleman is 3-4 hours of charge time for both power sources. They also went on to mention that the run times are quite accurate on these lanterns.

Can you only recharge this lantern via USB?1 answer
Lee - , (8 years ago)
There is a 240V adapter included with this lantern Lee, I'll add this detail to our product specifications. The USB cord plugs into the 240V adapter, both of which store in the base of the unit.
