Use the OZtrail Pop Up Ensuite as a shower, toilet or changing room for privacy in the campsite.
Sturdy and durable, this tent is very easy and quick to set up and pack away. Includes a hook for your shower rose head and a three-shelf organiser to store your necessities along with a capped roof fly for weather protection and ventilation.
The removable Polyethylene floor with mesh drainage panels allows water to escape, and the inner walls are silver coated for extra privacy.
Hi---if this tent was used in a confined space, sitting on top of a concrete slab, would this be stable enough as is set up in the video, without anchoring in any way so it could be used as a toilet tent?..Would it need some solid "foam" base on the floor to stabilize it if no guy ropes are used?... Thanks
G'day Diana,
We would not recommend using this unit if you're not able to secure it in some way. If you're wanting to use it on a concrete slab we'd recommend using sandbags or similar to ensure that there is no chance of the ensuite getting blown over/ blown away.
I understand the floor can be removed. Some campsites have grey water collection reqs. Will this meet those reqs? I.e. floor can be sealed and capture water to a flat tank.
G'day Des,
The floor of the Pop Up Ensuite Shower Tent doesn't seal so there is no way to capture water in the base of the ensuite.
Is it possible to use the tent without the roof supports/poles, and the same with side support/poles. Cheers Phil
G'day Phil,
The Pop-Up ensuite will stay up without adding the extra roof and side supports, however we wouldn't recommend using it without adding these in, as the ensuite will lack structural stability, and could be prone to damage that wouldn't be covered under the product warranty.
It looks like there’s 2 side windows which are open. Do they have mesh over them or are they open to the elements? If it’s mesh is there also an option to close it off from the rain? I want to avoid showering with the march files.
G'day Emily,
The Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite is partially insect-proof, there is the possibility that some sneaky bugs could get in at the bottom where the tent meets the ground. There is some mesh around the bottom, and if you're using it in conjunction with the floor it could work for you, but it's hard to say. The mesh windows at the top just mesh so you won't be able to block out rain from coming in if it's coming in sideways. Check out our video on the product page, Ben runs through all the features in fairly good detail, so that might answer your query about whether it's suitable for you or not.
Hi, can you advise the height of the side access zips? I'm trying to determine if they will be a suitable height to reach through to access the taps on the external shower of our caravan. Thanks!
G'day Jonty,
Easy peasy mate, the side access zips sit at 145cm high. Cheers :)
How does the water supply for the shower get into the tent?
G'day Graham,
You can have your off grid water supply in the tent with you, eg: bucket or jerry can, otherwise the hose can run up between the detatchable tent flooring and the wall. Hope that helps!
Will this pop up tent withstand the weight of a 20lt shower bag
G'day Jenny,
Unfortunately, the Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite Shower Tent won't hold the 20kg of water you'd be hanging up in your shower bag. They're really designed to just hold the shower rose from a portable hot water system. They do however have a section of the roof that will open, so if you can hang the shower bag from a tree you'll be able to set up the ensuite under the branch and use it that way. Alternatively look at something like the Zempire Pocket Rocket or Outdoor Connection Shower Tent, they're not as fast to pitch but they'll hold a lot more weight than a pop-up.
Is the floor attached in a way that will prevent large insects or snakes gaining access?
G'day Graham,
There's a small mesh floor section that stretches about 6 inches from the edges of the Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite Shower/Toilet Tent, which creates a double layer when you put the floor in. I'm not sure that it would 100% stop any snakes or large insects but they would need to weave through the layers to get inside the tent.
Hoping it's a teal colour to match another tent we have.
G'day Sean,
I've just double checked our floor stock and good news! The Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite Shower/Toilet Tent is currently a teal colour.
Is there any form of reinforcing for the roof area?
G'day Peter,
The vents on the side of the Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite Shower/Toilet Tent don't come with any sort of solid alternative on them, they just remain open. As for the roof, there's no specified way of reinforcing the roof, no but if you wanted to hang a tarp over the top or similar, then that could help.
Hi Guys, does this tent have a waterproof hood to add to the top of the tent when it rains?
G'day Paul,
The Oztrail Pop Up Ensuite Shower/Toilet Tent comes included with a hood but it isn't waterproof. It would be water resistant at best. Aside from this, there are no other options available that we're aware of.
I have looked on the oztrail website and the MPE-ENP-C picture shows side access with the capacity to access a towel that is hung on the outside. I notice in your description that your model number is the same but i cannot see any side access in your photo. Can you please confirm wether or not the model that you sell offers side access and the external towel holder. thank you
G'day David,
The stock we have currently does have the towel holder. I've just spoken to Oztrail, and they've said that the side access zip is a new feature so the current stock we have (which is very low) won't have this feature, but all the new stock that arrives from Oztrail will have the side access zip.
how to fold ensuite shower/toilet
G'day Sid,
To pack ihe Pop Up Ensuite Shower/Toilet Tent down – fold it flat, then grip the end of the tent near the base with both hands, lift the base so that the tent slumps and curves halfway down between the base and top. Then take your left hand, fold one side over the top, then do the same with the right side, and collapse it down.
If you like you can check out the video linked on the product page as that will show you exactly how it's done.
Is there anything that can be fitted/additional to this that stops the rain leaking through the roof zipper. I would really like to make this waterproof as I use it as a toilet tent.
G'day Donna. We don't know of any product available that will waterproof a zipper as such as they are a feature that is opened and closed on a regular basis. A product called Seam Sealer can be used on the seams themselves to repel water from entering the tent however is not suitable for a zipper. Perhaps a feature to look for with a Shower Toilet tent that might help to prevent water wicking inside through the zipper would be one with straighter upright sides to allow the water to run from the tent quickly instead of sitting on the fabric for too long. Another option may be the Oztrail Camper Fly, which could be used over the top of the tent, using the included poles to protect your Shower Toilet Tent from getting wet.Â
We are looking for a toilet tent so can't have a floor in it, thank-you.
G’day Trudi, I’ve just had a look at the display model and I can confirm that the floor on the Pop Up Ensuite Shower Toilet tent from Oztrail is removable. It attaches to the corners of the inner tent so you’ll have no issue removing the floor and using it as a toilet tent.
Our van is off roader and the external shower is 120 cm from the ground....the hose is not long enough to go up over the ceiling opening on this one. Thanks Kathryn
.we have an external shower on our caravan and finding it difficult to find a tent to suit. Thanks for any information you have.
