If you're travelling with a larger group or a family and want to join two Oztent RV tents together for chips and dips happy hour, grab an RV Awning Connector from Oztent.
By using this connector, you can join two tents together, awning to awning, which creates two separate rooms with a large undercover area in between. This can come in really handy if you need a break from the kids. The connector also has an inbuilt gutter system which will collect any water and funnel it down via the drain pipe and away from your tents so your togs don't get soggy.
Made from tough ripstop poly-cotton canvas and has an impressive 3000mm waterproof rating. Grab yourself this handy Awning Connector from Oztent for the extra functionality you've needed for your campsite for ages.
Hi there, a similar question has been asked about connecting to alternate brand awnings, but worth a shot! Can this be used to connect oztent to a darche eclipse awning?
G'day Kim,
The Oztent has a zip connection while the Darche has a sail track connector, currently this won't be able to match up.
Hi Have an RV3 and 5. I understand there will be a difference in awning width of 200mm. Which connector do I get - the one for the RV5 or RV3/4. Cheers
G'day Rob,
It doesn't matter, the function of both options is exactly the same. The RV5 will be as wide as the RV5 tent and have abit left over on the RV3 side. The RV3/4 will be as wide as the RV3 tent and stop abit short on the RV5 side.
Either way, both tents will be connected - I guess the RV3/4 size saves you a few bucks!
How much is a awning connector for two rv2 tents for oz tents
G'day Thomas,
We dont have any RV2 awning connectors at all I'm sorry.
They're discontinued and no longer available.
You may be able to find one with another retailer who has some stock left, or possibly second hand.
G'day snow's. I did try and google before asking but wondering if this can be used to connect an RV5 and an RX5. couldn't see it on the oztent site as a compatible option but thought I would ask. Cheers
G'day Sarah,
It can't be used, unfortunately. The RV & RX series are different tents - despite looking similar they use different zips and configurations.
Does connector be used to connect the awnings of a RV5 and RV5 Plus
G'day Nicole,
Yes, you can use the RV5 awning connector to connect an RV5 and RV5 plus front awning together.
Hi there, Will this work to connect the hex room to an RV5?
G'day Jen,
Unfortunately not, there is no way to attach the Hex Screen House to an RV5 tent.
Do I use the RV5 connector on the RV5 Plus?
G'day Jazlie,
Yes, you can use the RV5 connector to connect and RV5 and RV5 Plus tent.
I have two rv4 tents with side walls but I don’t want to setup both awning from both of the tents, is there a connector I can connect one awning to the top of the other tent ?
G'day Joel,
We don't think this is possible to be honest, as the only zipper on the top is the fly attachment zipper, and we're not sure the orientation will allow for the zippers to attach to one another. Oztent has designed their tents to connect using the awning connector between the end of each awning, or by attaching a tagalong tent off the front of the awning of the main tent. It may be possible to do what you're suggesting, however at this point in time we don't have the facilities to test it out. I'd say give it a whirl when you're next able to, and if it works that's great.
Reason for asking is that I have had water leaks on the Tagalong zipper during constant rain.
G'day Wayne,
You won't be able to use the awning connector to connect your RV tent to your Tagalkong tent due to the orientation of the zippers.
Hi there Was just wondering if this is what I need to attach my RV5 to my Rhino rack batwing awning
G'day Matt,
The Oztent RV Awning Connector is a guttering connection system that runs between the awnings of 2 RV tents. Check out the video to see Ben demostrating to use of this product.
Rhino Rack and Oztent products are not compatible. Whilst these 2 brands were in partnership with some of their products a long time ago, this is no longer the case, and there is no attachement function between the Oztent RV/Tagalong series and Rhino Rack awnings.
Can you zip a oz tent eyre e-2 and a oztent foxwing together?
G'day Kelly,
Thanks for getting in touch about fitting your Eyre E2 with a Foxwing awning. I've just spoken with Ralph who I think has called Oztent and spoken with you over the phone. Oztent told us they're pretty sure it will fit with the RV-5 awning connector, but if you end up trying it out please let us know so we can help future customers out too!
If you don't put the strange high raised section that opens the sides for bad weather. Put both together in the centre high and getting low at both tents? Understood this is needed with sides installed. But surely not without them?
G'day Mike,
I can picture what you're saying
I have an RV3 and looking to purchase an RV5 and would like to join them together with the RV5 Awning Connector. I know there is 200mm difference in width between these two tents and it wont be perfect but i was wondering if you think it's still possible for it to work.
G'day Troy,
As you mentioned, you'd have a slight discrepancy with the width of the two tents but you can connect them together using an Oztent RV Awning Connector.
If you are setting up two RV tents opposite each other, with the deluxe sides, AND the awning connector, what is the approximate setup time? Also, how do yo achieve the correct spacing between tents, assuming you are using floor savers, so that the awning connector ends up in the right spot? Do you lay the floor savers down, set both tents up and then the deluxe sides and awning connector - is that the right order - I hope this makes sense.
Good question Lee!
Set up time is always variable but given that you need to arrange the floor savers, put up each tent, connect the awning connector and add side panels, it might be roughly 20 minutes but would probably speed up with practice.
In relation to the order of setup, we've discussed it and think that perhaps a good approach would be to lay out your first floor saver, erect one tent on this and then connect the awning connector to one side of that. That will give you an idea of where to place your next floor saver which you can then erect the second tent on. Then the deluxe sides would be the last thing to setup but I'm sure you'll tailor this method to how it best suits you.
Hi lee we have had oztent rv4s for approx 5yrs now we have both sides with the delux panels one tent also always has the awning kept connected too. We keep the panels attached when folding and putting them away and they fit into our bags with poles and floor saver. The floor savers you can do 2 ways. Lay both down and peg them in then then open parts a and b on tents and peg in the rear 2 corners of each tent. Then when you lify and open both tents knock the inside brackets in place and velcro and then join the awning connector. Then proceed to put in front pegs of the tent and delux high poles yhen the short ones. We setup camp in about 45mins everything unpacked kitchen beds etc and with a little one at foot. Love these tents. We probably should do a YouTube video..enjoy!
Thanks for sharing, Kiz!
We'd love to see a video.
Hi, I'd like to connect two RV5's with side panels on both front and back. Do I therefore need two awning connectors to seal the front panels? Can two work together?
Hi Max,
You only need one RV Awning Connector to join two RV5’s together, and you can only use one at a time. You put the front edge of the awnings together, and then use the connector to join them up. You can then add the side panels on either side to create one large space.
I hope I’ve answered your question, if you’re still unsure feel free to let me know and I’ll give it another crack!Â
Looking at the photo it looks like the awning connector is used to join the side panels together, is that not correct?
G'day Max,
I've just opened one up to confirm, and the Awning Connector also connects down the side so you can also join the side panels.
I'm sorry that I didn't answer part that in my first response, I must have got my wires crossed there.Â
Hi Emily thanks. So what happens on the other side? I want to have the side panels connected on both front and back.
Hey Max,Â
The awning connector goes all the way around enclosing the area - so your side panels will be connected on the front and back. It's a little hard to see in the picture but I've confirmed this is the case.
Just wandering what floor saver would you use when joining two tents together? From the picture it looks like one unit rather than two separate floor savers.
To anyone wishing to Know: Yes It is relevant to purchase this item to join the oztent to the foxwing and ordering the size of tent you purchase Cheers C
Hi Ben just some info for you...decided to call oztent direct and the Rv5 awning extension does fit the fox wing to the rv5 tent and tagalong all rv5 products the same width measurements. But we found out that they both zip straight to the fox wing hence I decided to purchase the rv5 tent without the extension ,We already have a tagalong rv5 tent but its a little tight for our stretchers to fit hence why we decided to buy rv5 30 from u.Greatly thankyou for your help and advice Cheers Christine
