You don’t know how much you need a good sturdy table until you’re trying to chop up your meals while balancing on a log. Save yourself the struggle and pick up this compact and easy-going Slatpac Table from Zempire.
This table can be used at coffee table height, or it can be extended to use in your camp kitchen to dine on or prepare food. The Slatpac packs down small and can be put up or taken down by absolutely anyone – even a complete camping newbie. To set it up, you just fold the frame out, extend the legs and then attach the tabletop.
The aluminium frame is rustproof, so you’ll be using this little gem for years to come, and the cross frame leg supports will keep it sturdy when in use. Having a good sturdy table around the camp is also a great opportunity to bust out a board game or a round of cards to get your campmates away from their phones, and back to real-time communication.
Hello, do you stock the larger 120mm version of this table? If not, can you order it?
G'day James,
We do stock the Zempire Slatpac Lrg Camp Table which is the 120cm sized table. If you pop your email in the 'Notify Me' section on the product page we will send you an email as soon as we have stock.
Could I put a camp oven straight from hot coals onto this table?
G'day Adelle,
Camp Ovens tend to be super hot coming straight off the coals, and will maintain that heat for a while, so while it should be ok, it may lead to degredation of the slats over time, especially when you include the abrasion from the bits of coals etc that will remain attached to the base of the camp oven when it comes off the coals.
Is the table surface safe and sturdy to use small camp stoves on? For example with a Trangia stove?
G'day Louise,
Yep, absolutely. The aluminium table top is suitable for cooking on, even with larger camp stoves. Something like the trangia which has a lower heat output will be absolutely fine. The slats sit evenly and dont have a overly large gap between them, so they wouldnt present a problem.
Hope that helps!
I can't work out how to retract the legs without resistance.
G'day Sadie,
Thanks for your great question, we've just tried it out for ourselves and it is a little tricky the first time! The yellow levers unlock, and then you have to pull down on the leg for it to retract, it's a little like retracting a window blind.
Hi Snowys Just trying to find a table we could sit at comfortably in our wanderer camp chairs - the arms are 65cm high and just under 90cm extent across. Could you check this for us please? We liked the look of the bamboo topped zempire table and thought this may work better but lots of reviews on it being unsturdy? We really need to know a measurement on the height and width of each table under the frame and legs if possible. Or what else do you recommend?! Thanks so much
G'day Kate,
I've just tried a chair with similar dimensions and you'll be able to comfortably side at the table, but the chairs won't tuck in under the table. I've also had a try with the Kitpac table and it is quite similar. You can sit up to it, but not fit the chair under the table. I've had a bit of a try under most tables and found with the width of the tables you generally can't get a chair under on each side and still have room for your legs. I tend to find I don't sit under a table when I'm camping, but just pull up to it to eat.
How do these go for wobbly-ness? I’d like to replace the nobrand ones i have which are terribly wobbly. I’m deciding between these or the timber top one.
G'day Linda,
I've just done a bit of a wobble test on the Slatpac Camp Table and they're really solid. I can definitely recommend this one. It's more stable than the Zempire Kitpac Camp Table.
Hi, Would you be able to add pictures or description to show how it folds down to bag size pls? Brilliant that you only use email to contact about questions! Sylvia
G'day Sylvia,
Thanks for your suggestion, some extra pics to show the legs folded is a great idea! We'll get onto that :) In the meantime, to collapse the table from the set-up position shown, all you have to do is retract the leg extensions by pressing the clip mechanism and then fold each end (one on top of the other) underneath the tabletop so it becomes one flat(ish) unit ready to be stored or packed into the car. Also, we're available anytime for questions, be it over the phone 7 days a week, or through email, we're always happy to help. Cheers :)
is this table really only 70cm tall at its tallest? Seems a bit low for standing at to prep/cook food.
G'day Jon,
I've just double checked and the standing height of the Zempire Slatpac Camp Table is indeed 70cm. Most of the camping tables are around the 70cm mark.
Zempire slatpac camp table height adjustment.
G'day Anthony,
The Zermpire Slatpac Camp Table's legs operate on a slide with clips that hold them in place, so you can adjust them to any height between 38 & 70cm.
We have a big 6 litre slow cooker we want to take camping.. Need a table to sit it on!
G'day Jayne,
If it's your typical household slow cooker, then you'll have no worries whatsoever using it on your Zempire Slatpac Camp Table.
WEBER Q 1200 DIMENSIONS • Height (with lid open): 60 cm • Height (with lid closed): 39 cm • Width: 69 cm • Depth (with lid open): 54 cm • Cooking area: approx. 1200 cm2 (43 cm x 32 cm) • Cooking height: approx. 15 cm • Total weight: approx. 11.25 kg • Cast iron grill weight: approx. 4.75 kg • Body weight: approx. 6.5 kg
G'day Steve,
With my trusty tape measure in hand, I've gone to suss out one of the Zempire Slatpac Camp Tables for you. Weight, width and height wise, you've got no issues at all. Depth-wise, you might be close. My measurement camp up 2cm short from what you needed but I'm guessing that the legs on your Weber wouldn't go out the full depth of the BBQ and so, therefore, you should be fine.
Can I use a cast iron ring burner on the surface of this table? Discoloration etc not an issue. Just wondering if it'll fail or not.
G'day Troy,
We definitely wouldn't recommend using your cast iron ring burner on the Zempire Slatpac Camp Table. With the heat that these ring burners give off, we're a little concerned that the aluminium that the slats are made out of might fail.
G'day Troy,
Not sure if you'd be happy getting something separate to the table, but these Zempire Stove Stands would be an excellent addition to your camp kitchen. They'll allow you to have your stove off the ground, whilst still having all your bench space free for food preparation!
Does the top scratch? and also is it made from alumimium?
G'day Vanessa,
Like most aluminium surfaces, the Zempire Slatpac Camp Table is no different in that it is likely to occasionally scratch. However, with general wear and tear, these scratches should be limited to cosmetic surface scratches. And yes, both surface and legs are made from aluminium.
Hi, does the slatted top roll up?
G'day Tanya,
I've just had a look into this, and it seems the top sort of folds/rolls up - if you check out this video here at 0:47 you can see what I mean.
Can the legs be extended to different heights to allow for uneven ground. eg: sloping
G'day Trixie,Â
I've just had a go of it myself on the display model, and you can adjust the either side of the Zempire Slatpac Table seperately to different heights.Â
But, because the plastic covers on the end of the feet are flat - the table will be slightly angled and so you won't have a sturdy surface if you set it up this way.Â
