Use with solid gazebo walls1 answer
I noticed the wrap around pole weights can't be used with solid walls as the walls can't be zipped to the ground. Do these allow the gazebo to be zipped to the ground?
Andrew - SA(3 years ago)
G'day Andrew,
Yes, the Standard Sand Bag Kit can be used with solid walls, you just have the sandbags sitting inside the Gazebo frame, not on the outside. Hope that helps.

As well as pegs?1 answer
I was wondering if we should use these bags as well as strong tent pegs on the foot of each pole? Our intention is to do the above as well as use the guy ropes and the canopy savers for our 3x3 top vented gazebo. Does that sound pretty secure? Thank you.
Kimi - Brisbane (3 years ago)
G'day Kimi,
It sounds like you'll have all bases covered by using the sandbags along with pegs for each leg pole and guy rope. The Sandbags should keep the legs secured, but if you're expecting variable weather and you've got the option to, then adding the pegs would be helpful.

Car awning use?1 answer
Could these be used effectively to help secure car awning legs?
David - Bunbury WA(5 years ago)
G'day David,
Theoretically, you could use the Standard Sand Bag Kits to secure the legs on your car awning, but if you're using the guy ropes you shouldn't need to. The guy ropes would need to be pegged out to keep the awning secure.

For use with other brands?1 answer
Are these, or the oz trail base pods, suitable to be used with other brands of gazebos such as the Coleman fast pitch event 12?
Lyn - Canberra(7 years ago)
G'day Lyn,
Both the Oztrail Sand Bags and Oztrail Base Pods are suitable for almost all gazebos, including the Coleman Fast Pitch Event 12. The sandbags are secured with velcro around the poles and the opening in the basepod is wide enough to fit the diameter of the poles, with the feet preventing them from sliding through.

Do you receive just the one bag when you order?1 answer
How many bags are in the kit?
Patricia - Harcourt(7 years ago)
Hi Patricia,Â
The Standard Sand Bag Kits comes with 4 bags to place on each pole of your 3x3 Gazebo.

You have two previous questions on here about the sand bag, asking the same question. One answer 6 - 8 kgs and the other 11.5kg. Which is it? 1 answer
Beau - HERVEY BAY, QLD(8 years ago)
Good pick up Beau, and sorry about the confusion. Whilst we have not tested it, Oztrail claim the Base Pods to weigh 8 kg filled with water, and 11.5 kg filled with sand. It will vary a little depending on the type of sand, how wet it is etc etc, but given this information and the fact that the volume of the sand bags is similar to the base pods, our first answer of 11.5 kg is realistic if the bags are filled to the brim with fine sand.

Stephanie1 answer
How many kilos are these when filled? Thanks
Stephanie - Frankston(8 years ago)
It depends on what you fill it with Stephanie, but I would estimate the bag if filled with dry sand to weigh about 6 - 8 kg.

What sort of weight does each one end up when full of sand?1 answer
I was looking at the oztrail base pod system and it tells me the expected weight that each pod offers when filled with water or sand. I'd like to be able to compare this product with the pod system as far as how much weight it will offer as support to each leg.
Ruth - Perth, WA(9 years ago)
Good Question Ruth, The standard Sand Bag will hold the same volume of sand as the Base Pod, therefore reaching 11.5kg
