Trangia / alcohol stove1 answer
There any issue using this with a trangia or alcohol stove?
Dan - Albury, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Dan,
None that we can think of! There is a statement on the paperwork with the skillet that says "Use with camping stoves only. Low to medium heat recommended" - however, it stands to reason that this is referring to the fact that its a lightweight hiking pan, and not for situations where more robust gear like cast iron, or domestic cookware would be ideal. Feedback from users suggests oil or stick burning stoves are fine.

This is the old one ?2 answers
Why hasn’t this frypan got the flu ring under it? They made a second one better this one is cheap please supply better one I’ll buy cheers....tas camping and hiking adventures tas
Dazza - Hobart(3 years ago)
G'day Dazza,
I think what you're describing is actually the older model. The previous Jetboil Frypan had the folded flanges that you'll see on the Fluxring Cooking Pot. The current model is the one we're selling, and the older model was discontinued due to issues with heat concentration under the fluxring causing damage to the coating.

Storage bag3 answers
Does it come with a storage bag?
Paul - Glenhaven(3 years ago)
G'day Paul,
The Summit Skillet doesn't come with a storage bag, it just comes as pictured with the folding handle.
Leece - Snowys(3 years ago)
There is a bag included in the folded bit of the packaging so don't just rip skillet out from packaging and accidentally throw your bag out there is no listing of it on the packaging bag is in one end and usage directions and a sticker in the other folded up section at each end of the packaging
Steve Miller - Oak Flats, NSW(3 years ago)
This is good to know, Steve, either this is a new inclusion or something we have never noticed. Thanks for the info.

can you cook simmer with any other jetboil?1 answer
so im tossing up between buying this pan because A i got a cheap 3 piece set from kmart thats plastic safe etc and all i need is a pot support, my question is can you cook and use this on the jetboil flash or do you have to have a sumo or minimo, which B i wont buy because of the gas regulators get seezed up alot in them? cheers love from hobart!
TAS CAMPING ADVETURES - HOBART TAS(3 years ago)
G'day Tas Camping Adventures,
The Skillet can be used on a small lightweight hike stove, so the simmer control will come down to the stove unit itself. The Jetboil units themself are designed to provide fast high heat, so there is limited ability to simmer on any of them. The Sumo has some degree of simmer control so that would be the best option if you're wanting to use this on a jetboil unit, the Sumo comes with a pot support.

Will this fit with a Furno stove top?1 answer
Is there a link to the pot support if so?
Rohan - Concord(4 years ago)
G'day Rohan,
Yes, you can use this Skillet directly on top of the Furno stove, you won't need a pot support to do this.

Use on fire?1 answer
Could this be used on a grill above coals?
Adrian - Fairy Meadow(4 years ago)
G'day Adrian,
The Jetboil Skillets are just designed to be used on the Jetboil or a lightweight gas stove. If you pop it on hot coals you might damage the hard anodised finish.

compatible with sumo1 answer
Do I need to buy the pot support if this is being used with the Sumo?
Janey Cameron - Little Forest(4 years ago)
G'day Janey,
You will need a pot support to use the Summit Skillet with your Sumo. Depending on when you purchased the Sumo it may have been supplied with a pot support (they currently are). If not you can find them here.

Handle1 answer
Hi, just wondering how / if the handle is locked into position while cooking? Thanks
Brent - Bacchus Marsh(5 years ago)
G'day Brent,
The Summit Skillet handle locks in to place in a similar fashion to a gate lock. The position of the handle will push the handle sides out and lock it in. When you're ready to fold the handle you squeeze the sides together and it unlocks so you can fold the handle up and over.
