Fly waterproof up to 2000ml1 answer
Hi, I've read elsewhere that the fly on the oztrail tents has silver technology for sun and rain, making a barrier up to 2000ml? Is this correct?
Reanna - Brassall, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Reanna,
It is correct that these tents have a silver coating for "UV & weather protection", but Oztrail have not done any waterhead testing on this tent, so there is no official claim on waterproofness. Any tent that has "not specified by the supplier" under the Waterhead Rating specification, means no waterproof testing has been done. Based on that information, there is no guarantee that this tent will provide protection from rain & if so, how much rain exactly.
If waterproof / rain protection is an important factor for your tent selection, eg. you are not looking for a fair weather tent only, make sure you're going with an option that provides an official tested Waterhead Rating. Something like the Explore Planet Earth Spartan 2 would be the closest option that comes with a waterproof testing & guarantee.

Without pegs?1 answer
Can I use this tent without attaching pegs to the ground as I plan to use this on concrete surface?
James - Sydney, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day James,
Yep, you can as this is a free-standing tent. Pegging out is always best practice though, especially in wet or frosty weather where you may have to deal with condensation or rain. But other than that you'll be fine.

Waterproof?1 answer
Can you please provide some information on rain proof this tent is for QLD weather
Clint - Brisbane(4 years ago)
G'day Clint,
Oztrail don't specify a waterhead rating on their tent range, so unfortunately we're not able to provide much more information, other than this tent should keep the water out in light rain.

Oztrail tasman 2p1 answer
1. Do you have instruction video or guide to set up. How easy is it for beginner 2. Ventilation for our hot nights, with 1 door only.
Cath - Brisbane(4 years ago)
G'day Cath,
Unfortunately we don't have a setup video for the Tasman 2P as it's a pretty straight forward design with just two poles. It is easy to set up, even for a beginner. There is a fair amount of ventilation in this tent as the side walls are mainly mesh, so we think you should be ok with just opening up the front door. Some other good options for greater ventilation would be the Flinders 3P, or the Breakaway Wanderer, they have front and rear doors, as well as lots of internal mesh.
