For fuss-free weekend adventures, the Trailhead Th2 Sleeping Bag from Sea to Summit provides technical features wrapped up in an uncomplicated package.
This bag has a tapered rectangular shape which gives you extra room compared to a traditional mummy bag. When it warms up, open up the full-length side and foot zip to use it as a quilt, or add ventilation by opening the zip slider in the footbox. The Trailhead has a synthetic fill which features a unique WaveLoft™ construction which loops together thick layers of insulation to trap warm air.
To make it lighter and more compressible the shell is made from 30D DWR nylon while the 20D nylon lining is attached to the shell to prevent it getting tangled. There’s nothing more annoying than your zipper getting caught, which is why the oversized zip draft tube has an anti-snag, while the 5°C comfort rating and -1°C lower limit make it ideal for general camping use.
For performance and value for your casual adventures, the Trailhead Th2 Sleeping Bag from Sea to Summit is ideal.
5°C comfort rating and -1°C lower limit
Full length side and foot zip allows the bag to be opened and used as a quilt
Second zip slider in the footbox provides extra ventilation and temperature adjustment
WaveLoft looped synthetic insulation
Lining fabrics are attached to the shell fabric to prevent tangles
Oversized zip draft tubes with anti-snag
Lightweight and compressible 30D DWR nylon shell and 20D nylon lining
The compression sack is water-repellent, but not completely waterproof. Could be an idea to pop it in a dry bag as well if you need to keep the sleeping bag waterproof.

QuiltLock1 answer
Hi, does this sleeping bag come with the QuiltLock attachment points? Sea to Summit's website says all their bags do, but I don't see it explicitly listed anywhere.
Zach - Swanbourne, WA (6 months ago)
G'day Zach,
Yep, every Sea to Summit bag comes with the QuiltLok system - it won't be explicitly listed because it's a given. You'll only find selective features such as ZipCoupling listed, as not all bags have that. Hope that helps!

Compression Sack1 answer
Hi The photos for this product indicate that it comes with a compression sack, as does the STS website itself. The description however indicates a stuff sack only. Can you please advise what sack is provided? Thanks. Regards Dave
Dave - Gelorup, WA(7 months ago)
G'day Dave,
It comes with a compression stuff sack. If you check out the second to last product image you'll be able to see this in action. Just be mindful not to store your synthetic bag in a compressed state.

Sizing recommendations for a tall human3 answers
Hey Snowys Crew, I'm 193cm tall but quite broad as well so I'm torn between regular wide and the long versions. How accurate are the max height stats? The overall length for regular seems fine at 215cm so I'm leaning towards the wide version. Although I can see the benefit of having a snug fit for warmth too. You can see the dilemma I'm having. Any help would be much appreciated.

G'day Dan,
If you are 193cm, you're in the long size - no question. The bag length takes into consideration the hood and the overall bulk of the bag, and not the internal dimensions, so you really need to abide by the max user height. The Trailhead also has a flat foot box, not 3D, meaning there isnt a boxed space at the base of the bag for your feet. This generally means the size of your feet will also chew up abit of the bags length, especially if they are big (which I assume they are based on your height). Even if you were on the cusp of the max user height (183cm), I would recommend sizing up. I say if you went with the regular you probably wouldn't get your shoulders covered.

Thanks Lauren. Amazing advice, especially consideration of the foot box. I think I'll go for a large Traverse Tv2 as it ticks a few more boxes. Much appreciated!

No worries Dan, happy to have helped in your decision making!

What compression sack should I use with this bag??1 answer
What Sea to Summit compression sack will fit with this sleeping bag to reduce pack size?
Jeffrey - HILBERT(3 years ago)
G'day Jeffrey,
Sea to Summit recommends the medium stuff sack for the Trailhead Th2, however, the Regular length will just squeeze into the small as well if you wanted a longer narrower compressed bag.
