For traditional comfort with a modern design approach - the Trek Tk3 from Sea to Summit is the ultimate sleeping solution.
The warmest bag in the Sea to Summit Trek range of sleeping bags, the Trek Tk3 has a tapered rectangular shape which is a bit roomier than a mummy style bag. The shell is made from a light and compressible durable 30D nylon, with a soft touch breathable 20D nylon lining. For insulation, this bag is filled with RDS 650+ Loft ULTRA-DRY Down which provides warmth and is also easy to compress.
The oversized zipper draft tube has anti-snag materials to prevent catches, while the vertical chest baffles help prevent cold spots and down migration. The full-length two-way side zip and separate foot zip mean you can use it as a quilt for balmier nights or have your feet poking out if you need some ventilation. The neck collar draft tube seals in warmth, and you can draw in the 3D draw hood to keep you snug while you sleep.
You can also keep any valuables close to hand in the large internal security pocket while you snooze. The comfortable shape, excellent insulation and versatile features are what make the Trek Tk3 a classic sleeping bag for all kinds of adventures.

Hi I have a regular length bag already and it looks like they all have a lleft hand zip. My question is will it zip together with another regular bag?
Mark - Brisbane, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Mark,
No, you're not able to zip 2 x Trek sleeping bags together. With Sea to Summit, for each unisex bag there is a women's specific equivalent, and these two bags can zip together. In the case of the Trek, the women's specific partner bag is the Journey series - you'll be able to zip any of these two combinations together.

Upper temp rating1 answer
What is the rough upper temp that this bag could be used in without sweltering?
David - Winmalee, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day David,
There isn't any specifications around upper temps for sleeping bags, but when fully opened out, you could use this bag in most climates. I have a similarly rated bag that I've used in the middle of summer, with overnight temps around 15-20C and haven't found it too hot.

Is the compression bag that comes with the sleeping bag waterproof?1 answer
Is the compression bag that comes with the sleeping bag waterproof?
Sam - Toowoomba(3 years ago)
G'day Sam,
THe Trek sleeping bags are supplied with an Ultra Sil Compression Sack that is water-resistant, but if you're needing something waterproof you'd need to grab yourself a Compression Dry Sack in Medium.

Condensation? 1 answer
Hello! One of the reviews on this sleeping bag mentioned that this bad didn't perform well regarding that. I was wondering if your staff have had a chance to use this bag, say in winter conditions, and possibly give a different perspective regarding this. Especially as this bag would be used primarily for the snow. I used a hilleberg Soulo for Winter, and have not experiences condensation etc in my tent thus far, and wondered, if that were the case, it could be possible that this sleeping bag would perform well. It's either this, or the Women's Spark 111, with this Blue Sleeping bag being my preference, especially considering the temp rating for 'comfort' is a tad better than the Spark 111. Thank you for your time. Warm regards, Jay
Jay - Wollongong (4 years ago)
G'day Jay,
Thanks for getting in touch, both the Trek TKIII and Spark SP3 use ULTRA-DRY Down™ which helps to reduce moisture affecting the down. Generally, condensation will form on the outer surface if you're too warm in the bag and there is low breathability in your tent. We'd suggest ensuring your tent has good breathability, and opening up roof vents etc to help reduce condensation. Both bags will perform in the same manner, so we'd suggest choosing a bag based on the comfort temperature you require.

Comfort level1 answer
So -6 meanin still in thermal’s or should be comfy still in just the minimal?
Justin - Vic(4 years ago)
G'day Justin,
The Trek TK3 has a comfort temperature of -6'C, you can read more about how sleeping bag temperature ratings work in this handy blog post. As long as you're sleeping on a well-insulated mat, in a tent, you should be comfortable, down to -6.

Can i use this sleeping bag in a bivy sack? if condensation runs down the sack, will it damage this sleeping bag?1 answer
I want to know whether this bag is safe to use in a bivy sack
Tory - Adelaide(5 years ago)
G'day Tory,
You can use Trek Tk3 inside a bivy without too many worries. The Trek TK3 has a breather 30D nylon outer shell so condensation will usually form on the inside of the bivy. If the bag itself gets wet then it shouldn't cause too many issues as Sea to Summit uses ULTRA-DRY Down™ which is a water-repellant treatment that protects the down from external moisture and condensation.

When will the long version be back in stock1 answer
Thank you but you did not answer my question. Can you tell me when the long model will be back in stock... It is listed as Out of Stock on your web site.
Bruce F Sanders - Melbourne(5 years ago)
G'day Bruce,
My apologies. As they are the new 2019 model we have them on backorder with Sea to Summit. We have a limited number due to arrive late April, however there is a pre-order option available above. If you choose to place the pre-order it will get shipped out to you as soon as they land.

Do you know when the extra long model will be back in stock.1 answer
I am looking for a very warm down bag for hiking for me during the winter months ... I am approx. 200cm tall 6ft 8in tall.
Bruce - Windsor victoria(5 years ago)
G'day Bruce.
The Long model in the Trek series has a max user height of 198cm / 6'6". One of the guys here has jumped into the regular size, which he exceeds measurements by about an inch, and it was quite uncomfortable. You can see him trying it at aroun 4:35 on our Trek TK Down Sleeping Bag Range video.
It might be possible that you would get away with the Long model although not using the hood. I would recommend you find somewhere to try it out in person before you make a decision, as there are other factors with the fit aswell, especially when around the max user specs.
