Fly setup before mesh inner1 answer
Can the fly be setup before the inner for when it is raining and you don't want the mesh inner to fill with water?
Brenden - Sunshine Coast Mc, QLD(6 months ago)
G'day Brenden,
Great question, but unfortunately not. The frame itself isn't fully self-structured and does rely on attachment to the tent's inner to keep itself together. There's not a huge amount of multi-pitch tent options on the market in the 3P range, and the ones that are tend to be a bit more technical & therefore at a higher price point. The only options for multi-pitch that we have in our range at this point are the Sea to Summit tents.

Midges/sandflies1 answer
Will the mesh keep midges/sandflies out?
Luke - Silkwood(3 years ago)
G'day Luke,
Zempire doesn't specifically use a midge-proof mesh in the Trilogy, but the mesh is quite fine, so if you were worried about them chewing through the mesh we'd recommend pairing the tent up with some good insect repellant.

Size of Headroom1 answer
Hi, in the photo the internal height says 140 cm and in the description page it says 120 cm. Which is correct?
Andy - Dubbo(6 years ago)
G'day Andy,
We measured the Zempire Trilogy's head height this week after a tip-off from another customer and we found it was 120cm, but it looks like we haven't updated the image, we'll get that sorted out as soon as possible.

Best value for money 3 person tent (for two people)2 answers
I'm attracted to the extra space this tent offers, but is it good quality? Especially guys, zips, peg loops, pegs, etc. Most tents I've had fail at the peg loops. Does it have buckle (side squeeze) clips in addition to peg loops?
Emma - Ascot Vale(6 years ago)
G'day Emma,
Unfortunately, I don't have a Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent on hand to check this one for you so will need to give Zempire a buzz over in New Zealand. They've closed for the day so will do it first thing in the morning and get back to you with an answer on that one.
Ben - Snowys(6 years ago)
G'day Emma,
I just got off the phone with Zempire, they've got buckles on the fly but not on the inner of the tent. As for the quality of the tent, Zempire make a really good quality product generally and are starting to make a great name for themselves. They use YKK door zippers and unbendable tri pegs. All in all, you could do a lot worse than the Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent.

compared to blackwolf grasshopper 31 answer
which would you recommend for overall waterproofing and windproof as well as space and ventilation?
matt - 3186(6 years ago)
G'day Matt,
The Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent has a significantly higher Waterhead rating and about 10cm more sleeping area down one side than the Black Wolf Grasshopper. Ventilation and wind resistance wise, these two tents are very similar.

Would this tent fit two Exped Megamats or similar1 answer
Would use for lightweight car camping and have found before that three person tents are so much better than two when weight not an issue. Am getting soft on the sleeping side
Ian - Canberra(6 years ago)
G'day Ian,
You will be able to fit two of the Exped Megamats into your Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent, although there won't be much room for anything else. You'll be left with about 20cm of space between the two mats and that's about it.

Seasons1 answer
what temperature level and season is this tent suited to? and how small / portable is it fully packed down?
Jern - Thornleigh, NSW(7 years ago)
G’day Jern, In general tents don’t come with temperature ratings, so it’s best to go by what seasons it will cover. The Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent is a 3 season tent so it will be suited to all Australian weather conditions except snow. The Trilogy packs down to 57L x 19W x 18H cm and weighs 4.5kg. It’s not the lightest or smallest hiking tent, but divided over a few packs it would be a lot easier to carry. You may want to consider a model such as the Companion Pro Hiker 2 (Snowys code: 37306) as it is a lighter and smaller tent.
