If you’re after a roomy tent that won’t weight down the back of your trailer, the Black Wolf Turbo Lite 300 is the tent that will have your back.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meet, and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. In windy conditions, the extra reinforcing along the roof poles, and the stronger mesh on the windows and doors will add to the robustness of this tent.
The three-pole awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The added PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
You can divide this tent into two spaces with the curtain divider, or you can roll it up to enjoy one large space, so its interior is very versatile. The Turbo range from Black Wolf is known for its durability, ease of set up, and lightweight construction so it’s the perfect range for a fuss-free camping experience.
3 pole awning
2 rooms
Quick pitch frame
Lightweight Polyester construction
Extra fly coverage for improved weather protection
Reinforcing on the inside of the fly for durability
How does the polyester compare to the canvas? Is it pretty flappy?! And is it as sturdy and robust as the canvas in wind and rain? Thanks
Owen - Bremer Bay(4 years ago)
G'day Owen,
The polyester and canvas versions of the Turbo tents are pretty well matched in terms of quality and sturdiness. The Lite frame is made from 23mm aluminium so is slightly less sturdy than the 25mm canvas frames. Overall the canvas will be slightly more breathable and will make them a little more pleasant during hot conditions, but in the rain both options are well ventilated with vents (when required) and will keep you nice and dry. We've also got a blog comparing the models, it's a little dated, but the principles are still the same.

Condensation0 answers
I was wondering if you have had any feedback about the amount of condensation in this tent. I am a seasoned camper and I cannot work out why I have so much condensation on the inside? There are beads/drips of water on the inside every morning. We keep all of the windows open. Even on the underside of the annex roof there is condensation. Is it the fabric? Have there been recalls on this tent?

Black Wolf 300 lite tent.1 answer
I have a brand new Black Wolf 300 lite tent. I thought someone told me in the past that it is best to wet new tents down to improve there ability to repel water. Do I need to do this?
Lisa - Horsley(4 years ago)
G'day Lisa,
This method is called 'seasoning' and was recommended for older style 100% Canvas swags and tents, allowing the canvas fabric to swell up and seal any open stitching holes. These days its quite rare to come across a swag or tent that requires this, as even canvas products tend to be seam sealed, and certainly not something needed for your Black Wolf Turbo tent. Happy camping!

Does the Fly cover the 'Plus' section1 answer
I'm wondering if the fly covers the whole of the tent as its hard to tell by the picture on the webpage.

G'day Cherry,
We've just double checked with Black Wolf, and yes the fly covers the whole Turbo Lite Plus 300 tent including the rear section.

Fit bunk stretcher in the back "plus" section?1 answer
Can you fit a OZtrail Deluxe Double Bunk into the back "plus" section of the 300 or the 240
https://www.snowys.com.au/deluxe-double-bunk
Failing that, two kids-sized stretcher beds side by side?
Ian - St Ives(5 years ago)
G'day Ian,
The Oztrail Deluxe Double Bunk will fit into the rear section on both a Turbo 300 Plus and 240 Plus, but you might find the occupant in the top bunk is a little bit close to the ceiling. They will work split into individual beds, but it could be a little squeezy in the 240 Plus.

Stretchers?1 answer
Will this tent accommodate three King Goanna stretchers in a U shape configuration around the three walls? The floor plan certainly shows there is enough room, but the walls appear to slope a little more on the Turbo range. Just looking for confirmation it will fit. Also, I notice you've stopped carrying the Turbo Air range of tents. Was there a particular reason why?
Sue - MOONEE PONDS(5 years ago)
G'day Sue,
You should be able to fit three of the King Goanna Stretchers into the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Plus 300. You could put one on either side wall and then one in the back section, the one toward the back would need to be pulled in a little to account for the slope of the wall.
The Turbo Air Tents have been discontinued, hence we are no longer carrying them.

What size tarp would you recommend to cover tent with some extra room.1 answer
We had a very large tarp set up to cover our old large family tent for shelter and sun relief. We have downsized to Turbo lite plus from you and were wondering if you could recommend a size for a tarp to cover with a little additional space at one end.
TLee - Allambie Heights(6 years ago)
G'day TLee,
There isn't going to be a perfect size for the Turbo Lite Plus 300 tent plus extra space, but if you use two together you could get a better size.
The Turbo Lite Plus 300 is 6.7m long and 3.1m wide, so if you put two 3.65 x 3.65 Ultramesh tarps together you would get 7.3m long, and 3.65m wide which gives you an extra 0.6m.
