Can you release the air slowly to adjust the air (like my current pad and some other pads out there?) or will all the air dump out the moment you open the valve?

G'day Boris,
The out valve is an air dump for quick pack up, however the inflate valve is one-way with a thin rubber flange. You can use the green toggle on the inflate valve cap to push the flange in and have a controlled release of air to tailor the firmness. Hope that helps.

vs Dura 8R1 answer
What are the differences between this Ultra 7R mat, and the Dura 8R which has same size and thickness? What applications would you recommend for Ultra vs Dura? A side by side video showing the two fabrics in real life would be awesome too! Thanks :)

Ultra refers to ultralight, Dura refers to durable, in simple terms. The Dura has slightly more insulation, but with R-Values between 7-8, they both realistically quite high and will help insulate with no issues. When choosing between the two you'd look at whether or not having more of a lightweight mat eg. multiday hiking, or more of a durable mat eg. moto touring or everyday camping, would be more important. In terms of performance outside of that it's much of a muchness.

These are pretty quiet, Lyndsey, there are certainly mats that have a much crinklier feel and sound than these ones.
