Dry Cooking1 answer
Can you fry food in this or is it only for liquid-based cooking?
James - Sydney, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day James,
Its not recommended to use Silicone based cookwear for frying foods. The X range is best kept to liquid based cooking.

Heat canned food?1 answer
I note that the x pot instructions point out that you have to heat water or a water like liquid in the pot. They also say that the base be completely covered with the liquid. What's your thoughts on heating canned foods such as baked beans of soups in this pot?
Brett - Franklin, ACT(1 year ago)
G'day Brett,
The issue with this and other lightweight compact cookware is the base is quite thin, and therefore food can easily get burnt or stuck to the pan. This type of anodised aluminum cant be scrubbed, so if food does burn to the base it's hard to get it clean. The instructions to heat liquid first is a really important step to preventing this from happening. Eg if I want to cook porridge, I would heat the water first and add the oats and other ingredients to that. If you want to cook baked beans, I would recommend boiling a thin layer of water first, then adding your beans and keep them actively stirring until heated through. Same with soup, start with water first. This applies to all lightweight/hiking cookware with anodised aluminum. Hope that makes sense!

Can X-Kettle fit inside X-Pot?1 answer
Can X-Kettle fit inside collapsed pot? Kettle is 1.3lt & the pot is 1.4lt, does it fit?
Mike - Acacia Gardens(5 years ago)
G'day Mike,
I just gave this a quick try and did manage to fit the Sea to Summit X Kettle inside the 1.4L X Pot. It was a little tight and I need to pull the flaps over a little tighter than usual but it did fit.

can i fry eggs on it?1 answer
Jane - BRISBANE CITY, QLD(8 years ago)
I guess you could Jane but these are not really designed with fried eggs in mind, you may risk damaging the base and silicone as the heat would be concentrated in the base of the pot rather than through the liquid filling it. Sea To Summit make a compact frypan that would be suitable though, it's called the X Pan, and you can buy it in a kit with the X Pot, you can find these on our website.
