Yes, 23 Zero has now released the Yowie Privacy Shelter to attach to the Yowie Rooftop Tent. We don't have any info just yet for this arriving in our range but I have passed this on to our purchasing team to look into.

Does or will the Yowie come with passenger (reverse) side opening? Our Ute canopy has the awning and "living" set up on the driver's side which will clash with the drivers side opening of the tent.

The Yowie has one single doorway/entryway where the ladder is oriented in our product photos. The sides are mirrored, but these are both windows and not large enough to use as doorways. The Yowie is not a directional tent, like most rooftop tents, you can mount it whichever way you like, to open it in whichever direction. If you want the Passenger side access or rear access to the Yowie, you just attach it to your vehicle with the opening in your preferred direction. Hope that helps.

Interested in trying to mount one of these entirely over the cab itself of my dual cab hilux without stretching over the canopy. Any idea if this would be possible or fit?

Because the Yowie opens up on the long edge, you'll need to have it mounted lengthways - not across your vehicle. The long edge is 155cm, so if your roof is that length or more the Yowie shouldn't encroach over your canopy space. Hope that helps.

Hi - looking at mounting this on the back of a dual cab with a half height tub rack, so that the packed RTT top is sitting level with the top of the cab (less wind resistance). When the tent is raised, does the hard case lift vertically, or does it extend outwards? I have an Eclipse 180 awning mounted on the side of vehicle, and want to make sure it wont hit when tent is up (hard to tell from images). Many thanks

I must apologise here & admit I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. Are you wanting to know how much the shell tilts back when its opened? The lid itself raises verticle, it doesnt move side to side but it is on a hinge so as it lifts it will tilt back. This can be observed in product images 7-10, which shows how the lid opens and extends. If you have a 180 awning, this shouldn't have any effect whatsoever if you orient the tent so the ladder is over the back of the car. If you want to go with the ladder off the opposite side of the car to the awning, you'll likely run into abit of trouble, but its hard to say for sure.

So - as an awesome twist of fate, Ben is going to be recording the product review for the Yowie this arvo. Ive asked him to hold up a straight edge to the rear of the shell when closed and see if we can get a measurement of how far back the tilt goes. If you're happy to wait abit, I can get back to you with that info tomorrow.

Bens taken some measurements for you - the top canopy tilts back by about a further 8cm, which isnt actually too bad. The top shell also lifts vertically for around 20cm before the tilt starts, so hopefully that means you'll be able to work out a way to mount the Yowie, and make it work with your set up. I was actually climbing around in our new hardshell Roff Top Tents the other day, and the Yowie was my favourite - it's a nice space.

Yep - the mounting kit comes with the tent. As far as I'm aware the Yowie itself doesn't have a weight limit persay but it is quite alot smaller in overall size - 23 Zero have suggested the Panther if you're a bigger bloke and/or want some more functional space. The tent ladder itself is rated at 150kg. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately its not ideal. 23Zero have released another similar roof top tent series called the Panther. This has a couple of raised ridges/channels on it & would be a much better option if you are wanting to mount panels.
