rolling mat1 answer
hi I may sometimes want to roll my mat up with sleeping bag and bivvi together. Do you think this will be possible with this mat?
Sim - Kew, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Sim,
Highly unlikely I think mate, the mat is made from high-density foam and is designed to only fold at those specific accordion intervals. Due to the egg carton moulding, it's pretty impossible to roll up without damaging the mat.

Min temp for z lite combined neo air (R4.2) ?1 answer
Can you please advise what minimum temp the thermarest z lite and neo air could be comfortably used in ?
Brad - Castlemaine, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Brad,
There isn't a hard and fast rule here when it comes to minimum temperatures, as the entire sleep system needs to be considered, along with the shelter/tent, your metabolism, and a whole host of other factors. If you combine the Z Lite with the Neo Air Xlite you'll be looking at a combined ASTM R-Value of around 5.5 which should suit almost all conditions, other than alpine conditions, for this, we'd recommend something with an R-value of 6 or greater. In terms of temperatures, the rudimentary temperature you can likely use these two mats in combination will be down to about -15C, with an appropriately rated sleeping bag.

Min temp for zlite? 1 answer
Hi guys. Borrowing a zlite for a two nighter in the snowys this month. Just purchased a jol11 from snowys, so have the warmth in the bag, Might that work or do I need to consider a warmer option for a mat?
Karina - Bronte, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Karina,
The R-value on the Z Lite mat is fairly low, and really suited to summer conditions, but you might find that you are ok at Thredbo in February, given you've gone for the warmer Jo2 model sleeping bag.

Does the mat come in a waterproof bag?1 answer
Hi, I'm just wondering if this comes in its own waterproof bag to be strapped to the outside of my pack in case it rains on a hike - nobody likes a wet mat to sleep on! Thanks
Stuart - Sydney(4 years ago)
There's no bag included with the Z-Lite mat, Stuart. The foam doesn't tend to absorb much water, but putting it into a dry bag or plastic bag will certainly help keep it nice and dry on the surface.

Can you use z lite on top of one another so doesn’t slip and to boost thermal insulation?1 answer
Will this double the r factor.?
Jane - ACT(4 years ago)
G'day Jane,
At the moment we don't have the mat in stock to test this for you, but from taking a look at the seat, it looks like the dimples in the mat would line up with the seat but we can't confirm it. Laying them on top of each other would certainly warm up your sleeping set up, but we couldn't say for sure regarding the R-value as that's something that needs to be tested in lab conditions. Hope that was helpful, Jane.

Z Lite Sleeping Mat1 answer
We have purchased a couple of bunkers from yourselves, but need to also purchase some mats to make them a little more comfortable. Would these Z Lite mats fit the bill you think? (camping from a 4WD - so these would seem more convenient that an inflatable mat).
Dave - Kew East(5 years ago)
G'day Dave,
The Z Lite Sleeping Mat will suit your bunkers. They'll offer some insulation from the cold and a little more comfort than the bunker itself. Lots of people will also pop a self-inflating mat in the Bunker.
