Comfy, easy to set up, and with a durable frame – the Coleman Big Sky Bed Regular is the simple choice for your al fresco adventures.
The steel flatfold frame is sturdy enough to support up to 125kg, plus its gentler on tent floors and allows for more floor space in your tent. The bed-like comfort comes from the coil suspension and poly cotton covered foam mattress.
For a solid night’s sleep in the great outdoors, the Big Sky Bed from Coleman is the way to go.
What's the R Value of the Foam mattress that comes with this bed
Kersi - Sydney, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Kersi,
Coleman have not had any testing done on the Big Sky Bed, so there no R-Value rating on the matttress at all. I'm not aware of any similar foam mattresses that have been R-Value tested, so I cant even give you a ballpark figure sorry. I would assume its relatively low, so if you are worried about being cold I would recommend using a yoga mat or condensed foam mat underneath, or atleast a folded woolen blanket. Hope that helps in some way.

leg joinery1 answer
Hey there, am keen to put one of these in the back of my SUV, but I'd need to customise one of the sets of legs. How are the legs attached? Do you think they're unscrewable?
stella - NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Stella,
The legs are attached by pot-riveted hinges instead of screws. You may be able to modify them, but it's hard to say without seeing exactly what you'd like to do. If you did want to remove the legs, you'd have to cut off or drill out the rivets, but I think you'd be ok to replace them with screws.

How high off the ground ? 1 answer
I just need to know the height from the floor to the bed rail. I'd like to fit one in the back of my 4x4 ute. Cheers
Kevin Breeze - Tura Beach NSW(5 years ago)
G'day Kevin,
The Coleman Big Sky Stretcher Bed Regular is 38cm high, this is including the 4.5cm mat on the top, hopefully that will fit on your ute.

G'day Mark, stretchers.....1 answer
we're interested in stretchers having gone through several blow up mattresses/slef-inflating foam camp beds. We are also tall people (180-200cm) so would you recommend this product for comfort and length?
Naomi - HUONVILLE(6 years ago)
G'day Naomi,
I've just had a bit of a lie down on one of the Coleman Big Sky Stretcher Bed Regulars on our shop floor. After getting a few odd looks from our customers in the store, I'd be happy to say that comfort wise, you've picked a winner. As for the height, I'm about 181cm and it fits me no worries at all. I am a little concerned about your 200cm friend though, they might end up hanging off of the edge by 15cm or so. Provided they don't mind having their feet hang a little, they'll be more than comfortable on one of these bad boys!

Base1 answer
Hi is the base similar to a trampoline nylon with spring coils?
Mark - Holland Park(6 years ago)
G'day Mark,
The base of the Coleman Big Sky Stretcher Bed isn't like a trampoline nylon, as it doesn't have the same level of elasticity. It is supported by a metal rod frame around the perimeter and the springs, while they are coiled, are much shorter in length than a trampoline spring.
