Whilst it's not for everyone, a well-positioned hole in the ground somewhere in the bush is probably one of the cleanest ablution amenities you could come across. For others, just the thought of using a camping toilet is the worst thing in the world.
Fact is though, that if you're camping remotely, you'll need to set up some form of camp toilet. The most simple of these is a hole in the ground, this type of toilet is great for the quad muscles, but doesn't offer a lot of comforts. Step it up a little to a toilet seat such as the Oztrail Quadfold Toilet Seat or the Jimmy's Thunderbox and give yourself something comfortable to rest your buttocks on over the top of the said hole.
Then, you can take it one step further and use an all-in-one portable toilet such as the Thetford Portapotti or Dometic Toilets. This does mean you'll be carrying your... er... business with you, wherever you go, and you'll need to use dump points to get rid of your waste. But, on the upside, they are a similar height as most toilets at home, have a flushing function, and the chemicals you use to make them operate efficiently have a pleasant odour.
