Hi there, when setting up the tent, the long thin silver pole goes over the top of the vesitbule. But what is the shorter thin silver pole for? In the gear picture, from left to right you have: Vestibule side poles x2 Pegs and peg bag Pole bag Short skinny silver pole (mystery pole!) Long skinny silver pole for top of vestibule Awning side poles. I'd love it if you can solve this mystery for me, thanks!
Talita - North Perth, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Talita,
The shorter pole goes over the doorway/mini vestibule at the rear of the tent. On the top corner frame tabs you'll see an eyelet on each side. The pole ends will fit in there. You should be able to see this in the 5th product image of the rear of the tent. Hope that helps!

Condensation1 answer
I have an old Oztrail canvas Turbo 300 tent and condensation is a non issue. Do these Lumos tents breat like canvas or is there an issue with condensation?
Paul - Revesby, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Paul,
Canvas tents are quite different to synthetic options. The synthetic option are not very breathable at all, however generally have additional ventilation options factored into the designs of the tent. Condensation may be an issue, but generally more common with single skin tents, and if you do have issues with a synthetic one there are ways to manage it as best as possible. Check out our blog post on managing condensation for more info!

Ground tarp1 answer
Hi what size tarp would be suitable for this tent? Thanks
Lien - Nightcliff, NT(3 years ago)
G'day Lien,
There isn't an exact fit for the Lumos 6 Person Tent, but the best option would be the 3m x 4.8m size.

Window gussets 1 answer
Are the windows protected by a storm gusset akin to the Coleman tent?
Kate - 2612(3 years ago)
G'day Kate,
As far as we know there are no window gussets in the Lumos 6P Tent. We'd normally check our display model, but unfortunately, we're completely out of stock at the moment, and we've got all of the information Oztrail has been able to provide on the website.

Rear 1 answer
Can the rear entrance be used for setting up the awning? Or must it be the front?
Ernie - Knox(3 years ago)
From what we can ascertain, Ernie, the awning is only at the front. However, we are planning on some video reviews for these tents and that is when we usually discover all the features that are not pointed out on the packaging.
All going well, we should have some videos edited and published by next week, sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer right now.

Size of vestibule1 answer
Hey there, wondering what the size of the vestibule is compared to Coleman Instant Up 4P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent?
Kelly - Northcote(3 years ago)
G'day Kelly,
The vestibule on the Fast Frame Lumos 6 tent isn't dissimilar from the 4P Lighted Northstar Darkroom. You'll have about 80cm of floor space in the front vestibule area.

4 person version?1 answer
Does these tents come in the 4 P version?
Dodge - Quakers Hill NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Dodge,
Oztrail hasn't got a 4 person version in this particular range. There is the Fast Frame Block-out 4, it has the Blockout fly material, but doesn't have integrated lighting.

Can this be connected to the gazebo?1 answer
Can the front door panel be attached to the Oztrail premium gazebo?
Dodge - Quakers Hill NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Dodge,
Oztrail hasn't integrated any specific attachment points to connect these Lumos tents to their Gazebo range, however, you could use the eyelet holes to tie the tent to the gazebo frame if you wanted to avoid using awning poles.

USB battery pack 1 answer
What size USB (mAh) is needed to power the led lights?
Janine - Shellharbour (3 years ago)
G'day Janine,
The LED lights won't draw very much power, so depending on your trip length and options to recharge the power bank, we'd suggest anything from around 500mAh and up.

Back of the tent 1 answer
Is the back of the tent another door? Or is it similar to the sides? Will you guys be doing a featured video anytime soon?
Kylie - Mermaid Beach (3 years ago)
G'day Kylie,
The Lumos 6 has a front and rear door for access, so the back is a little different to the sides. We have got a video scheduled for this new range of tents, so as soon as they're filmed and edited we'll get them up.

Can one person set these up? 1 answer
Are they easily set up by one person, and are they as easy to set up as the Coleman Instant-Up range?
Lisa - Taranganba(3 years ago)
G'day Lisa,
Yes, absolutely, these tents have a very similar set up style to the Coleman Instant Up range, so one person can set them up without any worries, though if the weather isn't great and extra set of hands might be helpful.

difference from Northstar dark room tent? 1 answer
What is the difference between this tent and the Northstar dark room tent? Which one is the superior tent?
Matt - Bensville(3 years ago)
G'day Matt,
The new Lumos tents are fairly similar to the Darkroom tents. They have slightly different materials and overall weights, but they have the same waterproof rating and similar internal dimensions. It's hard to know exactly what the Oztrail is like as they've only just been released, but so far we're pretty impressed. The Colemans have been on the market a few years, and so far we've had very positive feedback on them.
