Permethrin Odor1 answer
Hi I'm wondering if the Permethrin has an odor and if it is very strong?
Anne - North Nowra, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Anne,
It does have an odor but it's difficult to say if it's strong or not. I'm personally not a fan of Permethrin treated stuff, as I'm sensitive to it, however, most people don't have any issues. There certainly hasn't been any complaints or negative feedback from customers, so you should be ok.

How long does the permethrin last1 answer
Hi, interesting this net is treated with permethrin. How long will this last in the product, and would it get washed off by rain or washing the net?
Andy - Perth(3 years ago)
G'day Andy,
Generally, the Permethrin treatment will last for about 12 months, or up to 30 washes.

How long is the net?1 answer
How long is it?
Alexa - Karratha (3 years ago)
They are roughly 50cm from the seam around the top to the elastic at the base, Alexa. Length, when worn, will vary depending on what you are putting it over, and tightening the bottom will shorten the length too.
I hope that helps.

Does it have holes on both ends? Or one end is enclosed?1 answer
Thanks
Sarah - Lake Coogee(3 years ago)
G'day Sarah,
There is just the one open end that has a drawcord to secure around your neck. The top is stitched up so you can pop it over a hat or your head.

Will the net fit over the lge straw hats they sell at Bunnings?1 answer
Will the net fit over the lge straw hats they sell at Bunnings?
Kathy - Gladstone, Qld(4 years ago)
G'day Kathy,
I don't have a bunnings hat here to try this but I think the headnet will be a little too small to fit over one of these.

No see um1 answer
Hi Are you able to tell me how similar to no see um mesh this is? Cheers
David - Perth(4 years ago)
G'day David,
It's hard to give an accurate answer as no-see-um mesh is a trademarked type of mesh. What we do know Mosquito Headnet Permethrine not only has an ultra-fine mesh, the mesh has permethrin embedded into it, which will keep the mozzies at bay.

Is this safe for a 2 year old to use1 answer
Is this safe for a 2 yr old to use?
Brent - Tahmoor(4 years ago)
G'day Brent,
The manufacturer doesn't specify any safety precautions in regards to the permethrin for children however it might be worth consulting a medical professional for clarification. It's also worth checking out the Royal Children's Hospital website, which, among other things mentions Permethrin treated clothing for children.

Fly Veil1 answer
What are the measurements of the veil?
Ann - Tweed Heads(6 years ago)
G'day Ann,
I've just grabbed a Sea to Summit Mosquito Headnet to measure for you. The circumference of the hole at the bottom is about 100cm and it's about 37cm from top to bottom when laying flat.

How important or useful is the permethrin on the head net?1 answer
Do I need to have permethrin on the head net or is just a headnet without permethrin ok too? I am travelling from Adelaide to Alice Darwin Kakadu and the North West from mid Sept to mid Nov so know it will be hot and humid. How bad are the midges?!
Pam - UK(9 years ago)
G'day, permethrin is a chemical which dazes/confuses mosquito's. This is embedded in the fabric of the head net and will result in the mosquito dying after multiple contacts. This may be useful if you are in a tropical region with high incidence of malaria, dengue fever etc.
