Adults clothing1 answer
Would an adult pair of jeans fit in the Scrubba for a wash?
Dani - Victoria(1 year ago)
Depends on the size of the jeans, Dani, but I'd say you cold reasonably effectively wash a pair of jeans alone in the Scrubba. I used it to wash for a family of four on an extended trip and fit lots of small clothes in at any one time. ~ Ben

Using scrubba for a couple with 2 children1 answer
This question is for Lauren. One of your previous answers mentioned you have used yours for 6yrs with a family. We have 2 young kids (under 3yrs) and they go through a couple of changes of clothes a day. How do you use yours with a family? Eg do you put the equivalent of 2 shirts, 2 pairs of socks, 2 undies etc and use the scrubba multiple times a day? In which case it sounds quite labour intensive… Thanks
Pustika - Gladstone Central, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Pustika,
I've usually not ever accounted for more than one change of clothes each day, and never worried about that too much. I figure when kids are camping they can be as grubby as they want, with the exception of a spare set of undies/bottoms for accidents. 2 sets of day clothes total for the whole trip means one being washed, one being worn. I'd only do a scrubba bag once a day, if needed. You can easily fit a few full sets of toddlers clothes in each load. My kids are teens now, but I've easily done 3-4 toddler/small child shirts, 5-6 pairs of undies, a pair of leggings, and a few shorts in one load.
The 2x shirts, undies, and socks load recommended for the Scrubba Bag is for Adult sized clothing.
Even if you did feel the need to have lots of clothes changes & several loads a day, it's only 1-3minutes of 'scrubbing' per load which requires minimal effort.
Hope that helps in some way.

SCRUBBA1 answer
Can you leave clothes in there soaking, I am thinking of putting things in there and leaving it done up in the sink of the van while I travel and get them out a couple of hours later ?
Sharon - Casino, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Sharon,
Yeah sure! That would be a great idea for extra grubby clothes, cant see any problems with that at all.

Lifespan1 answer
Hi …would like to know what the lifespan of the scrubba washbag is ???? It being made from a plastic… waterproof TPU coated nylon fabric… how long before it gets brittle or starts to degrade with age of use ?? from the winter travelling nomad
Yola - Adamstown, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Yola,
Lifespan is usually only determined from customer feedback, as theres so many variables that contribute to this. I've had mine for over 6 years and it gets good family use atleast once a month. Hope that helps!

Black version sounds better as you could lay it in the sun to have a warmer wash etc

G'day,
The Black Scrubba wash bag was discontinued a few years ago now, so its only the green one that is available.

Wringing.1 answer
Does the Scrubba help in any way with removing the excess water from the washing? This is the only difficult thing when it comes to hand washing and unless it makes the wringing out and removal of excess water easier I am not convinced I need one!
Fiona - Wendouree, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Fiona,
No, it doesn't wring out your clothes for you, you'll have to rely on good old-fashioned elbow grease for that!

Any Washing liquid?1 answer
Hi there, Must I use the wild wash laundry liquid or may I use my own washing liquid please?
Ann - Greenwith 5125(4 years ago)
G'day Ann,
You can use any laundry liquid you choose. We generally recommend wilderness wash as it's biodegradable and can be used without causing too much of an environmental impact.

Water usage1 answer
How much water does it use to wash and rinse?
Rebecca - Launceston(5 years ago)
G'day Rebecca,
It will depend on how many items you're wanting to wash, you'll generally need a few hundred millilitres for the wash and the same for the rinse. Obviously the more items you pop in the more water you'll need.

Laundry Detergent Sheets1 answer
Can you use Laundry Detergent sheets in the Scrubba? Sometimes easier to carry them rather than liquid
Karen - Toormina(5 years ago)
I'm not familiar with laundry detergent sheets sorry, Karen. However, it sounds like they are just like laundry detergent only in some sort of dried sheet form, in which case I can't see why they wouldn't work in the Scrubba Washbag. I guess you would just have to wait for the sheets to dissolve.

Capacity1 answer
how many kilograms of clothing can this wash at once or is it best for only a few small items?
Ash - Darawank(6 years ago)
G'day Ash,
I've checked this with the info provided by Scrubba's website, and they recommend a couple of T-shirts, a couple of pairs of underwear and a couple of pairs of socks per wash in this bag.
It can technically hold more clothes, but you won't be able to wash them very effectively.

Has anyone tried using this with soapberries?3 answers
I was thinking that soapberries would be great with this, being environmentally safe and not needing to rinse, but I was wondering if they’d just get smooshed?
Bec - Katoomba (6 years ago)
G'day Bec,
Full disclosure, most of us didn't even know what soapberries were! But after asking around and doing some research, we're pretty sure they'd get smooshed if you used them in the Scrubba Wash Bag, unfortunately. You need to push on the bag to create some friction, so we're assuming that you'd smoosh your berries whilst doing that.
Ben - Snowys(6 years ago)
You could make a soap berry solution (lots of instructions on the internet) or could try putting the berries in a small mesh bag (maybe repurpose some citrus netting?)
