When you’re tired, hungry and just downright cranky, the last thing you want to do is spend the next hour setting up your sleeping quarters and organising your gear. The Easy Fold Single Stretcher from Oztrail is a durable and cleverly designed stretcher that’ll get your ready for bed in 10 seconds, with just a flick of the wrist.
Tall campers can rejoice as this stretcher doesn’t have head or foot cross bars, so you won’t have a metal pole digging into while you sleep. This stretcher is also a good option if your back needs a firm surface, as it’s fully flat with a soft touch fabric top. The durable powder coated frame will keep you sleeping solidly all night and can easily be wiped if it gets a little grubby with use.
The coolest thing about this stretcher is that once you’re all warm and comfy in your sleeping bag – you can stay that way as it comes with a detachable mesh gear loft to stash your tablet, book or even a midnight snack. The side organiser pocket has two mesh pockets and one long pocket, so you can keep your phone, GPS and other important gear at arm’s length.
Hello. Would 2 of these fit in an Oztent RV3 or RV4? Or would I need to go for the Oztent RV5?
G'day Mel,
If you are wanting to fit standard-sized single stretchers in an RV you'll need to go with the RV5.
They will likely fit in the RV4 but they will run perpendicular to the doorway, meaning you'll need to climb over one to get to the other.
Hope that helps.
Hi the dimensions look good to put 2 together under the 23 zero outbreak swag which is 1550mm wide, thoughts if this would work? I know there will be a bar in the middle
G'day Kylie,
You physically could do it, but I'd say it would be uncomfortable. The stretchers don't sit perfectly against each other, because the legs come out a small amount from the side, and you'd end up with around a 20cm section in the middle that would be raised and have that bar there - which you've already mentioned. If you are using it with two people I'd say you'll end up rolling toward the edges of the swag more due to the peak in the middle, so would recommend separate sleeping bags or quilts, or atleast make sure you've got a quilt that's wide enough to cover you and your bodies over both sides.
I would probably suggest seeing if any of your family or mates have a couple of stretchers you could borrow to test it out first, unless you have use for single stretchers anyway if this setup isn't right for you.
Hope that helps.
Will this stretcher fit front to back in the RV3, with a StratusXL single mattress?
G'day Deborah,
No, it won't.
The RV3 is only 200cm front to back which is measured along the floor. You might be able to fit a mattress in there by this orientation, but not a stretcher.
At stretcher height, because of the rear wall taper, you'll only have about 160cm front to back.
We have the OzTrail Easy Fold Stretcher Tents which we find really comfortable & stable. Looking at the Easy Fold Single Stretcher for use inside a tent for next trip & wondering how the stability & comfort compares to our current stretcher tents. Thanks
G'day Helen,
Oztrail have advised they are essentially the same materials and frame, just a different colour.
I cant recall if the Stretcher Tents have a padded stretcher fabric in the bed section, but the standard stretchers dont - they're just heavy duty material.
They're one of our most popular stretcher options, so you shouldn't have any issues with comfort.
Is the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher suitable for the Oztrail Mitchell Expedition Single swag or would I need to go with the Jumbo ? I am just trying to get the lightest/smallest suitable stretcher possible please !
G'day Simon,
The Mitchell Expedition is a tiny bit smaller, but it should still work ok with this stretcher combo. You'll only have about 5cm of overhang on each edge, which shouldn't effect comfort or swag performance.
Will two of these fit in one of the rooms in the Coleman Instant Up Gold 10P Tent ?
G'day Jonathon,
Yep, you can - they're best oriented the same way the "person" icons are in the tent floor plan.
Front to back if you are entering the tent through the long side.
Hope that helps.
Will 3 of these fit inside the instant up 4p?
G'day Kat,
They won't unfortunately. The sleeping space of 240 x 240 is measured at floor level and, as the walls taper in slightly, there is even less room at stretcher height, plus you will have absolutely no room left over.
Possibly consider the low rise version which you can check out here, you'll get 3 of these in with room to move, and it will still be compatible with most self inflating mat options if you are keen on that combo.
Hi Snowys Team I would love to know if this stretcher will fit in the sleeping area of the Zempire AERODOME I PRO V1 tent? Thanks
G'day Lauren,
This particular tents are now discontinued, so we dont have one on display to try.
We can work this out by checking the dimensions.
The Aerodome I Pro V1 has a bedroom area of 215L x 275W cm.
The Easy Fold Single stretcher is 200L x 80W cm.
So, you'll have no trouble fitting this stretcher in the sleeping area.
What do you recommend for RV5 Stretcher wise? It will be one stretcher & one mattress.
G'day Brendan,
There's no recommendation for a stretcher in the RV5 tent, as the majority of the single range we carry will fit.
Essentially your choice would come down to the other factors that may be important to you, such as pack size or weight.
You can find our single stretcher range HERE, and we also have a great blog post on stretcher sizes and tents HERE.
Hope that helps!

G'day Michael,
Yes, the Easy Fold Single Stretcher will fi t in the 4P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent. Adding a HexaTherm 3D mattress will make this combination super comfy and luxurious!
What mattress would you recommend for this stretcher? I am wanting something that rolls up reasonably small and will help against the cold. Don't want to send more that a couple hundred. :)
G'day Kim,
One of the most popular combinations with this stretcher is the Zempire Monstamat Single, they'll add some comfort and cold insulation. They roll up fairly small, and won't break the bank.
Would these work pushed together to create queen bed with two SIMS but keep flexibility instead buying queen stretcher?
G'day Joe,
Yes, you could get two of these and push them together for a queen-sized option with greater flexibility. One thing to note is you will have a double bar in the middle, which will mean you'll each have your own side, but you'll still be close together and a pseudo-queen-sized bed.
Hi, would this stretcher fit inside the 2p swagger tent?
G'day Crystal,
Yes, you can fit the Easy Fold Single Stretcher in the Swagger 2P, however, we'd recommend the Low Rise version of the stretcher as the regular height stretcher will mean you're quite close to the ceiling of the swagger.
Hello,is it possible to fit two stretchers in the side room of a oztrail fast frame lumos 10p tent?
G'day Nicole,
I'd say you'll be able to just made this work, however you might not be able to shut the door between the side and centre rooms. You'll be short on space by about 5cm which with the door open should give you enough give to ensure they just fit in. Have a look at Ben's features video as he pops some mats into each of the side rooms which should give a bit of a visual to help.
Hi, what is the difference between this stretcher and the aluminium stretcher jumbo? Apart from the fact that it’s very fast to set up, what are the other differences ?
G'day Suzanne,
The Aluminium Stretcher Jumbo will take a little longer to set up, and is a little lighter due to the aluminium frame. The Easy Fold Single has a steel quick set up frame. There are a few minor differences in terms of in-use and packed dimensions too.
I wish to purchase the oztrail easy fold stretcher and I have a trundle bed mattress which is 90cn wide. Would this mattress work despite the 10cm overhang?
G'day Cheryn,
We think this should be fine, as you say there will be a little overhang, so depending on how thick the mattress is this might cause a bit of a valley in the centre of the mattress but we do have a few customers choose to do this and report it works quite well.
Can you sleep on this without a self inflating mat? Is it comfortable enough?
G'day Rosie,
Yes, you can sleep on this stretcher without a self-inflating mat, however, in winter you might need a mat to provide some insulation to stop the cold rising up from underneath. In terms of comfort, they are comfortable without the mattress on top but will be comfier with a mattress.
Will this fit the Darche Superdome Single
G'day Zak,
The Darche Superdome is a little longer and wider than the Single Stretcher so it will fit, but it will overhang a little. The Easy Fold Single Jumbo Stretcher might be a slightly better fit.
Do I need the jumbo single or will this work with the exped 10LXW ?
G'day Justin,
The Exped Megamat 10 LXW should fit the normal Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher perfectly.
Hi, would this stretcher fit comfortably in a Coleman instant up tent?
G'day Mya,
Yes, the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher will fit in any of the Coleman Instant Up Tents.
Hi guys Will a zempire single megamat fit inside the rails of this stretcher
G'day Matt,
I've just tried the Zempire Monstamat on the Easy Fold Single Stretcher and it's a perfect fit.
Hi. Can you tell me how much head to toe movement this stretcher has? How wobbly is it compared to other models?
G'day Rachel,
Compared to lots of the other stretchers available the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher is fairly stable and doesn't have much of a head to toe wobble
Will 2 of these fit comfortably in a Coleman 6p gold tent. Length will be fine just a bit concerned with width. Allowing 20cm on each side, 160cm for beds that leaves 40cm up the middle. Is that squeezy or ok.
I think this will be fine, Ian. There's not tons of space in between but this will be the case in most tents unless you go for something really big. 40cm gives you enough space to sit on the side of the stretcher and put your shoes on.
I’m looking at buying the Black Wolf Turbo 240-Lite LF and wondering if this stretcher would fit easily into it? Also, are there flat plates you can get to put under the feet to spread weight and help protect the floor.
G'day Ross,
The Easy Fold Single Stretcher will fit well in the Black Wolf Turbo 240 X-Lite LF. Unfortunately, there are no flat plates designed to sit under the feet, but I've just checked and they are quite large and flat already.
Also i have the Expad single mat will it fit ok as well
G'day Paul,
You will fit the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher in an Oztent RV1, just keep in mind the back wall of the tent slopes in so you'll want to have the stretcher pulled forward a little. Your Exped mat will work just fine with this set up as well mate.
I am interested if two of these stretchers would fit in an Oztrail Skygazer 3 person dome tent? Looking at an easy option for children camping outside the caravan.
G'day Kat,
Unfortunately, because the tent starts to slope in from right at the bottom and these stretchers are a little off the floor, you won't have enough length available to you in the Skygazer 3 to fit the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher in.
Will 2 of the single size fit into our Oztent RV4. Preferably front to back.
Hi Brian,
Because of the slope at the rear of the RV tents, the RV5 is the only model that comfortably accommodates two stretchers.
You will still fit two stretchers in the RV4, but you would want to make sure they are under 200cm in length. Even then, they will be pressed against the back wall when placed front to back, and your feet or head would be very close to the wall, or if placed sideways, the person at the rear will be sleeping very close to the wall.
If you set your tent up and measure 200 cm back from the door, then up to a height of 42cm, you will get a good indication of the space you've got to work with and if this is something you feel will suit your needs.
Hi, can you fit two of the these beds in one side of the Instant Northstar Dark Room 10P Tent without touching the tent, and with room around the sides to access the beds?
They would fit Gary, but given the height of a stretcher, they will push on the end if put in lengthways due to the sloped walls. Crossways they will fit better, but, you're not going to have a lot of room on each side of the stretcher.
Looking at the dimensions, the rooms measure roughly 200cm in length and 220 in width. Each of these stretchers is 200 x 80cm, or 200 x 160cm when placed together. So without considering the impeding sloped walls, you've only got 30cm each side of the stretcher at ground level to work in.
I hope this helps.
They are all going to be similar Gary. The Coleman Compact Big Sky bed is a little smaller at 175cm in length. That's probably going to be the best fit, but there's still not going to be a whole lot of space around the stretcher. The downside with these is that they don't pack up particularly small. Another smaller stretcher is the Oztent Goanna at about 190cm in length and 66cm wide
If you measure out a space of roughly 200cm x 220cm on the ground (I am estimating these dimensions, we don't have one on display that I can measure and Coleman have not supplied this information), then measure the space the stretchers will take up inside this, you will get an idea of the space around the stretcher. Keep in mind the sloping walls of the tent, particularly at the end (opposite the door). These rooms are made with space for airbeds and a few bags inside, rather than a living space.
I hope this information is useful.
Hi Will this stretcher fit 2 of them in a RV5 oztent front-to-back without touching the tent inside? Thank you
G'day Grace,
You'll be able to fit the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher in your RV5 without too many issues. The only small thing is that it'll go right to the end so won't have any room to move. It will fit without touching the walls though.
Hi , Does this stretcher fit in Oztrail Tourer 9 tent? Going by tent questions the King Goanna & Gecko won't fit. I use a Exped Megawatt 10 mattress and am looking for a suitable stretcher ( but not for a lightweight!!!) Thank you
G'day Julie,
You should have no issues fitting an Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher into an Oztrail Tourer 9 tent and then placing your Exped Megamat 10LXW on top.
At 200x80mm this stretcher would seem ideal for use with a biker swag, but will it support the end poles on an Oztral Biker or Companion Rhino Tracker 320?
G'day Fred,
The Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher will easily fit the Oztrail Biker Swag. There will be a natural splay of the poles which is actually beneficial as the poles will sit just of the stretcher so that water runs off rather than back onto the stretcher.
