Reliable, quick to pitch, and with options to expand your set up with more shade, the Instant Up 6P Gold Evo Tent from Coleman will get the whole fam set up in a jiffy.
The integrated frame makes setting this tent up a breeze as all you need to do is lay it down, spread out the arms, extend the poles out from the hub until it locks into place, and pop on the fly. It’s got a front awning that provides a small amount of shelter at the entrance to the tent, or you can attach a separately available EVO shade awning which also connects to an additional 3x3m Coleman Lighted Instant Up Gazebo so you can relax with more undercover protection. This model has ultra-fine mesh floor level vents and windows throughout the tent for airflow as well as internally adjustable window screens to keep you warm and allow for privacy.
To protect you from the ground underneath there’s a heavy-duty Poly-Oxford PVC floor, and to create a comfy and organised campsite there’s an internal storage hammock plus pockets, power cord facilities and a handy welcome mat. With versatile shade options plus a user-friendly design and quality construction, the Instant Up 6P Gold Evo will help you create the ultimate campsite.
Hi there, What are the big differences between this tent and the Instant Up 6P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent? Is it just the integrated light and the darkroom coating?
G'day Aaron,
The 6P Northstar has the darkroom coating on the fly and the front vestibule to help minimise light getting in. Because it is so dark inside the tent, there is the inbuilt lighting.
The 6P Evo is the improved version of the standard 6P Gold, having an attachment option for you to use with the Evo Shade Awning. This optional shade awning is not compatible with any other Coleman tent, other that the Evo series.
Hope that helps!
Hi, I have enjoyed using this tent very much. As unlikely as it seems, a cricket has chewed through the main tent material - not the fly (I suspect it was trying to escape after packed up in the tent for several days). Is there a repair kit that can be used on this tent to patch holes? Thank you
G'day Jay,
We've done a video taking you through the different options for repairing your tent fly, this will probably be perfect for your needs!
Check it out here.
Hi, Does this 6 person tent come with the strip lighting built in and the battery pack? (Same as the 4 person tent). It’s just that it’s not mentioned in the description and content list.... Thanks
G'day Paul,
You have commented on the Instant Up Gold EVO series from Coleman.
If you are after the lighted option, search for the Instant Up Lighted Northstar series.
What are the practical differences between the gold Evo as against the silver Evo?
G'day Steve,
The Silver is the base model and is a lighter, more fair wether/entry level tent option, having 1/2 the waterhead rating as the Gold. As you would assume, the Gold is a step up on this, has a higher water head rating, has a heavy duty PVC floor, and is more suited to year round use.
Does this tent front awning attach directly to a gazebo, and if so what type?
G'day Kristyn,
The Coleman Deluxe 3 x 3 Gazebo, you can find this in the "You Might Also Like" section on the product page.
Hope that helps!
Hi there, just wondering what kind of winds this tent would hold up to?
G'day Sarah,
Tents do not come with a wind resistance rating, as there are quite a lot of variables to inclement weather situations!
It's impossible to give any indication or guarantee of a limit here, but we have a podcast covering all the tips and tricks of setting up your tent in wind & rain, you might find that helpful.
what's the difference between this tent and the non evo instant up tent https://www.snowys.com.au/instant-up-gold-6p-tent
G'day Claude,
The Instant Up Gold Evo Tents are the new version of the Instant Up Gold Tents. They've made a few minor changes, and now include a zipper above the front door to attach the EVO Shade Awnings for extra undercover space. The size, shape, pole design and materials remain the same.
is the 420D Polyoxford PVCFloor Material same as the previous Gold instant up model like the cabin instant up which is listed as 420D Polyester/PVC https://www.snowys.com.au/instant-cabin-gold-8p-tent
G'day Josh,
As far as we're aware Coleman has made a few changes to the floor material, and now use Polyoxford. The Cabin Gold 8P has discontinued around 4-5 years ago so unfortunately, we don't have the exact specifics on file to double-check this for you.
Is the gold 6p evo rainfly is totally waterproof ?
G'day Simon,
Yes, the fly has a waterhead rating of 3000mm which is classed as waterproof.
Does the package include the poles that hold up the awning?
G'day Shilpa,
Thanks for getting in touch, yes this tent does come with two poles for setting up the awning - hope that helps!
Does this evo tent has back entrance? The old version gold series tent has the side awning, does this new one have that?
We are yet to set one of these up in full and have a good look over it, Esther, all the information we have so far is what is on our website.
Coleman has removed the side awning option and placed a zip at the front to allow attachment of a new awning/shade accessory, and the 6P version still features both front and rear doors as per the previous models.
