The foam is probably really heavily compressed and having a hard time expanding.  Usually best practice would be to get a self inflating mat out every few months if you're not going away, and even though they are fully bonded, I'm not sure any self-inflating mat would recover well after years of compressed storage.

A few things you can try are keeping it in a warm area or space in the house, or try manually adding a bit of air every day over say a week, to try and reinvigorate the foam.  I wouldn't go straight into fully inflating it from the get go.  If the foam has become stiff and stuck together, forcing it to fully inflate might cause some issues.

Self-infalting mattresses provide insulation between the ground and you, but they don't generate any heat or make you hot - just like your mattress at home doesn't make you hotter, it's your quilt or blankets.
Ultimately as long as your bedding is suitable for the temperatures you're in, you shouldn't have any issues.

This mat isn't very noisy when moving around as it has a soft stretchy material on the top which reduces the noise.

I cant see any reason why this would be an issue.  The only consideration being in the back of a canopy would be temperature and making sure it doesn't get too hot or experience really extreme temperature fluctuations.
Things like parking in the shade and having ventilation on hot days so the mattress doesn't get cooked would be the best bet, but you're likely to do that anyway if you're sleeping in it I would imagine!

There's no waterproof bag option for these mats.  The cheapest and easiest solution is to wrap up whatever you're transporting on the roof with a tarp.
Alternatively, you can get away with something like the Big River Dry Sack in the largest size, if you can roll your mattress up tight enough, there's also the Oztrail Swag Sac or the Coleman Heavy Duty Tent Bag which are quite large, but any excess bag can be folded or tucked away.

Yep, it will be able to fit in the Bandit 1400.  You can definitely roll it up in the swag, but we cant say for sure if it will still fit in the bag - depending on whatever other bedding you'll have included.
If it's just the mat & no bedding, and you pull the matt and decompress it separately before popping it back in a rolling it up, you should be ok.

Unfortunately, double/queen self-inflating mats don't work with the Outbreak swags due to the floor shape.
The corners ultimately have to fold up in order to fit in, which isn't great for the internal foam structure. and with the mattress pressing against the walls of the swag this can create a moisture pooling point for any condensation.

We're not an expert on this, but I've just checked in with Zempire & they have said no.
Its definitely not something that can be recommended due to the mattress material, and the excessive heat could cause the bonding in the mattress to separate.
If you are camping, we'd recommend adding an extra closed cell foam under the Zempire mat - such as a yoga mat, for eg. - and upgrading your bedding.

You absolutely don't need a stretcher, it's more common for mats to be used on the ground as not everyone has room in their camp kit to add stretchers. Stretchers can be handy if you have mobility issues though, or just prefer not to be on the ground for whatever reason.

The only self-inflating mat we carry that fits perfectly is the Darche All Terrain 1100 Mat

Yes, you will be able to fit a Monstamat or Coleman High Peak Double Camp Mat in a Swagger 3P, but I'd question if they'd be big enough for 3 bodies.
I personally wouldn't be able to share these with 2 young kids, as they're both only around 130cm wide.
One of my colleagues only just fits with her 9-year-old.
I'd encourage you to consider marking out the dimensions of the mattresses on the floor, and all laying down to see how you'd fit.
If too narrow, you'll have room to fit an extra single in aswell.

Generally, this won't cause damage, but will make it very difficult to fold/roll. Depending on the age of your mattress you may have accidentally lost the small clear-ish O-ring in the valve, which might be why your mat is now losing air.

Unfortunately, the Monstamat Twin is too wide to fit in the Coleman Pop Up Darkroom 2P Tent. The foot end tapers down to 105cm which is significantly narrower than the mattress. We'd recommend using two hike style mattresses in this tent if two people are planning to sleep in it.

The Zempire Valve is quite unique and a slightly different size to the smaller hand pumps we carry for other mats (e.g. Exped). You could use the airbed fitting on a rechargeable or 12V pump, however, we've found that these mats are pretty good at self-inflating on their own after their initial inflating following unboxing.

Unfortunately at the moment, we've got no way to physically check this for you, but we think it should be ok. The mat dimensions are only a few centimetres larger than the swag internally, and given that they are fairly pliable we think you should be ok.

We recommend letting any self-inflating mattress inflate for this amount of time due to the factory packaging which compresses the foam. It's advisable to let it inflate in a warm room if possible for as long as possible, to help expand the foam fully. Once it's done this then you'll find that it should inflate quite quickly when you're using it for camping (depending on the air temperature). We also recommend storing your mattress flat rather than rolled up which will help to keep the foam in good condition.

Based on your description we think it should work. You'll probably need to fold the mat in half and squeeze out the air before you pack your tent up, but it should flatten to 30-40mm thick. You may need to just be careful of any potential pinch points.

Thanks for getting in touch, the Monstamat Twin Camp Mat can be used in most camper trailers, however, we wouldn't recommend leaving the mat in the trailer when you pack it up. If you chose to do this then you can flip the valve to deflate, and with pressure on top of the mat, most of the air will push out of it.

The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat has a memory foam style self-inflating mattress, whereas the ATM 1400 has a high-density foam mattress. The Monstamat will pack down a lot smaller than the ATM due to the type of foam and the construction. In terms of comfort, we tend to get more customer reviews on the Monstamat that they're very comfortable and easy to use, in comparison to the ATM 1400.

Vacuuming your air mattress is not recommended and doing this will void any potential warranty issues.  
Double check that you are switching the mattress valve over to "deflate" and its sealing properly before rolling up your mattress.  If that valves not in the right position it will still be drawing air back into your mattress, no matter how hard you're trying to push it out!
Another alternative, if you dont have one already, would be a 12/240v mattress pump running on the deflate function.  You could check out the Zempire Super 2 Way Pump or the Coleman Quickpump Rechargeable 12v/240v as options for this.

Zempire hasn't provided any specs on the carry bag mate and although it might provide a bit of protection from light misty rain, it's definitely not waterproof.  You'd be wanting to double bag it with something a bit more rugged and durable for roof rack transportation in the rain.  Something like the Caribee Expedition Wet Roll Bag would do the job - size-wise and weather protection :)

In an ideal world, if you have space, the best way to store a self-inflating mat is unrolled and with the valve open, however, the reality is that most people don't have the space to do this. So yes you can store it rolled up in the storage bag, we'd just suggest getting it out the week before a trip and allow it to inflate, then roll it up and repeat a few times so it bounces back and inflates itself well on your first night of a trip.

Sorry to hear about your muddy monstamat, we probably wouldn't recommend washing it with a hose and soap. We'd suggest using a cloth and some mild soap to try and wipe off the offending mud, however we wouldn't suggest soaking / waterlogging it.

Two twin mattresses side by side are going to be just that little bit too wide for the width of the RX-5. From personal experience, its also not ideal to have your mattress touching the sides of a tent as condensation tends to gather  - making the mattress quite damp. A Twin and a King Single Monstamat would work better inside this tent (but may not work for your situation!) I've also checked most of our range of self-inflating mattresses and they are all of a similar width as well.

The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit on the Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Stretcher and Zempire Speedy Stretcher Bed will both suit the Monstamat Twin. Generally, the centre bar will create a little bit of a hump in the middle of the mat. We find lots of people tend to go for two single mats to avoid this issue.

You sure can! Your best bet would be to pull the mattress out of the swag, and do a mock roll up to make sure its thoroughly deflated first, then put it back in.  That way you know the mattress has decompressed as much as possible, and will reduce the overall bulk of your packed swag.  You can just roll them both up at the same time, although it will abit more awkawrd, and not as effective if packed space is an issue for you.

The Zempire Monstamat Twin will be a tiny bit too big for the Tungsten 2P tent. The two items are from different categories with the Tungsten being a hiking tent and the Zempire mat being a camping mat so might be worth looking at a camping style tent instead of a hiking tent if you're not hiking.

Given the Quest 2P is by Kathmandu and not a tent that we stock, it's hard for us to guarantee that the Monstamat Twin will fit.  I can only go by their online measurements which, by the sounds of things, have let you down previously.  However, I can confirm that our measurements are correct.  The Monstamat Twin is 201L x 132W cm and 10 cm thick.  If Kathmandu has listed their measurements for the Quest 2P correctly, the mat should fit but like I said mate, I can't absolutely guarantee it.  Cheers :)

The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat should theoretically fit inside the Nebula 1550, however, it's hard to give an exact answer as the Nebula is a rectangle with the corners missing. We don't currently have a Nebula 1550 on display to be able to completely confirm that for you sorry.

I've had a look at this for you now, and unfortunately, it doesn't really work. The mat will physically fit in the Nebula, however, the corners of the mat will be crumpled up against the edges of the swag at the tapered corners, so it's not something we'd recommend.

The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit inside the Panorama 2 RTT, it won't be quite as large as the sleeping area, but it will fit. The mat would need to be removed and separately rolled as the folding action of the rooftop tent may damage the mat. The Darche RTM 1400 is a two-part mattress that is able to be folded up with the tent.

The Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit inside an RV2 with a little suggestion. As you indicated the floor is fairly flexible and will have plenty of give for the mat.

The Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat and the Exped Megamat Duo are similar products but have a few key differences. The Exped is a Swiss-designed high-quality self-inflating Mat, with high-quality materials, workmanship and design. Exped back their product with a 5-year warranty. The Zempire Mat is essentially a really good alternative but made more cheaply, they are slightly heavier, use different materials and are only backed by as 1-year warranty. Overall there doesn't appear to be much of a difference between the mats, but I guess the warranty period may indicate the overall quality of the product.

Thanks for getting in touch. The Montatmat has a rotating valve so when you're ready to deflate the mat you turn the valve around to the deflate mode. In terms of rolling it, we'd generally recommend folding it in half lengthwise and squashing as much air out of it as you can, then rolling it up. Once rolled up then you can shut the valve and stow in the bag.

It is fine to store the Monstamat Twin Camp Mat rolled up, but best practice for self-inflating mats is to store them flat with the valves open if possible to reduce the constant compression of the foam. If you do have to store them rolled up I would recommend getting them out and allowing them to self inflate at least every few months.

They are all comparable in this respect, Meredith. You can add as much air as you are able to any of these mats. The main difference is that you need to use your mouth to inflate the Monstamat whereas Exped and Black Wolf include inflation aids with their mats.

Once pumped up tightly, they will all offer similar levels of comfort.

As far as I know, we haven't seen any valve issues with the Zempire Monstamats. They come with a 1-year warranty and they're a great bunch of people to deal with so I'm sure we can get it sorted out if you did have any dramas. I've just had a play with them and if you did manage to pop it out of the main valve it's really easy to push it back in place. Also worth noting that you can still use the mat without the rotating piece in the valve, it's really there to prevent air getting sucked back in while you're rolling the mat up, but the main valve cap will still seal the unit and allow you to get a good nights sleep regardless.

Unfortunately, Dune is Anaconda's home brand, so I can't honestly comment as I'm not familiar with any of their products. I can say that I do find the Zempire mats really comfortable when trying them out in the shop here, even when comparing them to more expensive options. They've certainly been getting good reviews on our website as well from customers that have purchased them.

I've been downstairs and measured these and 201cm is pretty spot on. The only twin mat in our range that is a bit shorter is the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress that measures up at 183cm long.

I can't test this properly as we've only got one of the Zempire Monstamat Twin camp mats on display, but I've measured both the mat and the tent floor and I think it will be a bit tight. They'd fit just, but it's going to be a real squeeze up against the frame of the tent and the mats might not quite sit perfectly flat.

I probably wouldn't recommend using a mattress any longer than about 195cm inside the Oztrail All Weather Queen Stretcher. If the mattress is touching the ends then you might have some issues with moisture coming through on to the mattress.

The best double sleeping mat to use in the Oztrail All Weather Queen Stretcher Tent would be the Zempire Twin Bomber Pad as it has a "fold" in the middle to accommodate use on a double stretcher. It's also short enough and narrow enough that you won't have it hitting the sides etc.

The Zempire Megamat Twin Camp Mat is probably a touch too long for your Coleman Traveller 3P Tent. The Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress is probably about as big as you'd want to go to make sure it fits well inside your tent.

I own a Zempire Megamat Twin Camp Mat myself and don't find it too difficult to roll up at all. I do find that the far end does tend to come apart a little bit when you're rolling, so it might need adjusting as you roll it but overall, you'll not have any issues.

You won't be able to fit a Zempire Megamat Twin Camp Mat into an older version Hubba Hubba HP but you should be able to get it into a Papa Hubba NX tent. It might be worth noting though that there won't be much room for anything other than the mattress in the tent.

There's no specific air pressure recommendation for the Zempire Megamat Twin Camp Mat. I've got one of these myself and find that if you let it self-inflate and then give it a few puffs with my mouth and it's more than comfortable for the night.
